Gathering hardware for rock gigs

This'll let you step into better gear without paying for it all up front. JRX is a speaker that makes noise, but that's about the only compliment I can give it. The cheapest speakers I wouldn't feel bad about purchasing are small active boxes like EV ZLX or Turbosound M10. RCF and FBT probably make something decent in that range too, but I'm not familiar enough with them to recommend anything.

Amazing Speaker! Quality is OK

the speaker is amazing, sounds amazing, lightweight as well. The only problem I faced with this speaker is that it turned off every 15 minutes when working at really low volume. I just wished it worked full time, as it sounds amazing! But this time I had to go with a JBL.

What's the catch? In the market for some speakers and came across these. Can anybody tell me more about them? $550 for the pair seems a little too good to be true, especially as brand new.

They'll break quickly and won't sound great. They also likely won't get nearly as loud as any of the "name brands". I'd check my local pawn shops and Craigslist first for any potential diamonds in the rough, otherwise I'd look for some EV ZLX or JBL Eon's. Do you really want 2x15 speaker cabinets?

Excellent sound, klunky menu

Tried several speakers and this one was by far the loudest, clearest speaker for music and voice using microphone. The Bluetooth works well but the menu is so klunky you need the manual to use it. The scroll / push button combo knob is not intuitive. It would be better to just have a Bluetooth butto...

How to choose powered speakers?

This standard of speaker is fairly powerful with great reliability at an acceptable price. If you can’t afford these, the 15” versions of the EV ZLX or Yamaha DBR series should suffice.

Sounds horrible

I have two 15” and two 12” and they sound terrible, yes they get loud but the rear resonance of the cabinet is so overwhelming it just makes everything sound mid boomy .

The Bluetooth option is not for eq or speaker control , it’s only for hooking up your phone and you can only hook up one speaker ...

Bought a powered speaker without understanding the limitations of portable power sources. Should I exchange?

Anyway, I'm pretty confident you'll be happier with something smaller. Maybe you want something with a battery built-in (like the Everse folks have already mentioned), or maybe you want to buy a separate power bank. A 15" powered speaker, even a lightweight one like the ZLX is gonna be a bear to busk with, and you really only need an 8 or 10 for busking, unless you need really low frequencies.

WORST BLUETOOTH signal I've ever seen! 12 foot range, 3 feet or LESS to connect!

Price for BT & DSP is Phenomonal. Not terribly loud unfortunately conpared to my RCF 12's but work for wedge monitors. I wouldn't try a full band even at the smallest venue with two of these on poles. Construction seems durable. Fairly heavy at 35lbs.

BIGGEST FLAW IS THE BLUETOOTH PAIRING & WORKING...

Alternative for JBL JRX115 speakers

Just about any 2way 15" in a plastic cab would be comparable although your low end may suffer. EV ZLX 15 would be a great replacement and they are powered. I went through the weight thing a few years ago.

Nice quality

Nice speaker,Loud and good sound quality..It has bass but I like more so I upgraded to the 15" version of this speaker and its much better..Many people would be satisfied with the bass on this speaker but,if you think you want more go for the 15"..They are both great speakers and are loud and sound ...
