E-MU Teak

So in the end, do I ultimately recommend the Emu teaks? I do, absolutely, without a doubt, or any reservation really.

- E-MU Teak (with Rosewood cups added after the fact, direct from E-MU). - AKG K240 Sextett MP (brand new today, currently unmodded and wearing a pair of Dekoni TH-900 fenestrated sheepskin pads). I've become kind of a sucker for the old-school K240s, obviously. This is my work lineup.

These are essentially Creative Aurvana Live!'s (exclamation point is part of the name . . .) with wood cups. (The CAL, meanwhile, is made by Fostex & used to be sold by Denon as the AH-D1001.) * E-MU Teak (Semi-closed). EDIT: Regarding the Meze 99s, they are very bassy. If that’s what you’re looking for then go for it, but most folks would say there are better alternatives in the price range you’ve provided.

They sound very cheap compared to my Sennheiser 598 closed backs and they're only 25$ more. I wouldn't recommend these.

TLDR I bought the E-Mu Teak to replace my broken D7200. First impression is overwhelmingly positive, but I start to notice the flaws after my honeymoon period ends.

Good overall sound ; warm. good bass. no stridency. Wood pleasing to look at and may contribute to mellow sound.

It's tuning is really good since it's basically Harman with slightly elevated treble and mid-bass. **E-MU Teak**: One of the most fun closed-backs I've tried.
