So I was having this flickering issue too, and turns out it might be related to the FreeSync function, so have a look at Displays in System Preferences on your Mac, and for the monitor Refresh Rate, select 60 Hertz instead of Variable (40-60 Hertz), that solved it for me. (My system is a 14" MBP with M1 Pro connected to S2722QC via USB-C). Also while I was trying to solve the flickering, I found another setting. It might be worth checking the Dell monitor menu, under Display - USB-C Prioritization, change it from High Data Speed to High Resolution, to get proper RGB rather than YCbCr bit depth, which is better for computer monitor display colour accuracy (RGB shows 0-255 luminance gradations with 0 being full black and 255 being full white, whereas YCbCr has only a range of 16-235).

The difference is more like: "oh that's pretty cool how games are a little more refined compared to my 1440p monitor.". In the Dell s2722qcll, first came the eye strains. Wow, it was burning towards the entire day. Other times I had intermittent headaches. I tried reducing the brightness and contrast down to 40% and 60% respectively and I still do get some eye strain.

Sadly, it's not a good choice for HDR gaming because it doesn't get bright enough to make highlights pop, it has a low contrast that makes blacks look gray, and it lacks a local dimming feature. Also, it doesn't display a wide range of colors in HDR, so it's best to use it for SDR gaming. Regardless, it's still a decent overall budget 4k monitor that you can use with the PS5

I'm leaning heavily towards Dell S2722QC which is a 4K 60Hz monitor. I know it should be fine on 4K with the PS5 but how will Series S games look given they are usually 1080p/1440p. Does the monitor upscale Series S to 4K?. The main reason I'm looking at this monitor is it's priced at USD330 in my country for a 27in 4K monitor.
