Staging is breathtaking for a closed back headphone, and to my ear the timbre is very good also. They are very natural sounding headphones, and they shine with any music I throw at them. Overall I love these headphones - unless I win the lotto, I will be stoked to keep these as my endgame closed back cans.

They sound really good for the price, but I have better things now. Used very seldom, I'd probably give these to a friend or family member if they want them or need headphones when getting the Aeon 2 Noire.

They're everything I expected them to be and more. Built great, sound great. I have a couple other built in USA headphones in my collection. Dan Clark aeon Open X, audeze LCD-2C....neither really compare to these.

Aeon 2 Noire is pretty good (I have the Aeon 2 Closed with perforated pads which is basically the Noire, but in red). Not sure why crinacle gave them a C in technicalities, as to my ears they are very detailed, with a good soundstage for a closed-back headphone.

If you absolutely want to spend more money, the Dan Clark Audio Aeon 2 Noire is also very well tuned, but it definitely benefits from more power than a phone or laptop can provide... If you're plugging it into a guitar amp or something, you're probably okay? Not that it takes a lot, even something like an iBasso DC05 should get it plenty loud.
