Hifiman Sundara or Ananda if I already have an AKG Q701

You might like Dan Clark Audio Aeon 2 Closed, or the new Focal Celesteé, a $990 closed back dynamic driver. Both the Sundara and Ananda are more of Hifiman's house tuning. Neutral-bright, with planars excellent bass extension.

Dan Clark Audio Aeon 2 Closed w/ Perforated Pads Review - Incredibly Average

Mid-treble is around the same level, if not louder, subjectively. Air seems fine, especially for a closed headphone. I usually first listen for decay capabilities of a headphone with cymbals and the Aeon 2 Closed neither disappointed nor impressed.

Opinioms on Dan Clark Aeon 2 Noire /Aeon 2 in general

I actually just had a friend over at my place earlier today to try out my headphones, and he thought my Aeon 2 Closed gave him the best first impression out of all of my headphones (SGL Jr, SR-L700mk2, Elex, Aeon 2 Closed, Sundara, A990Z). He thought that the bass was just right (not too punchy like the Elex and not too weak like the electrostats), the soundstage was large (larger than Elex, Sundara, and A990Z), and the detail retrieval was very good for a closed-back headphone.

These are BASS LIGHT just as the original Mr. Speakers Aeon Flow......

…..all D.C. Audio did was make them slightly more portable! Anyone else notice they exaggerate the differences when starting out?

Like my current top headphone is the Stax SR-L700mk2 that has been extensively EQ'ed to fit my preference, but when I listened to the Aeon 2 Closed, even without the perforated pads that I installed later, they sounded fine. I think they sound better with the perforated pads, but even before that they didn't sound bad. When I got my Beoplay Portal as a general-purpose headphone, it also sounded fine.
