Locally, Costco has the best returns, so we looked at what they had available and chose the mattress that most closely resembled a combo of the DIY specs and the Tempur Adapt. The winner was the Casper Hybrid and it has been FABULOUS!. No pain when sleeping on side, wake up without joint stiffness, sleep well. Frankly, it feels like a miracle to not be in pain in the morning and to not toss and turn all night.

We ventured to a huge mattress store and looked at about 200 mattresses and we found that we only liked one mattress. The Casper wave hybrid. I didn't want to seem biased because of the Casper pillow I had so had the wife try that mattress without saying a word. She loved it.

It is no where the mattress I expected. It is HIGH and Hard in the middle, and so soft at each end. My first 2 weeks were great, then I started getting awful mid and low back pain (feels like pressure building and is alleviated if I do a spinal twist and crack my back). I have a hunch this bed isn’t supportive enough for me and am looking to return it for something else. I usually like soft mattresses but think this is TOO soft. Any suggestions for something in the same price range (or cheaper) that would be good for me to try next?

My girlfriend and I have gone to a couple stores and tried a couple mattresses just to get a feel for what we like and did come across a couple but obviously there's a lot of other BIAB brands that are also good but aren't found in stores. Of the few that we tried, we did like the feel of the Casper Nova Hybrid and Purple original I believe. My girlfriend did mention that she does like the feel of sinking into her mattress but maybe a hybrid (something with coils) will work better to have more stability and avoid back pains. Also, we also prefer sleeping cooler, so a mattress that can also keep cool is a plus.
