Cannondale Topstone

This one made the list due to the 105 components which I’ve read are good but I do worry about a non mainstream brand in case I decide to sell in the future to upgrade. Cannondale Topstone 4. $1250. I’ve been leaning toward a gravel bike due to the ability to use it for rides on a vast system of dirt trails near where I live.

My Garage got broken into and it got stolen so I bought a Cannondale Topstone 2 with 40mm tyres and a Redshift stem, based off comfort alone I dont think I could go back to my road bike. Like you said I spent more time constantly scanning ahead for anything that will make me fall off; meanwhile my gravel bike I don't watch for anything and got to do a cool gravel ride this week where I rode through a wetlands and saw Kangaroos, Swans and Pelicans - something I'd never experience on my Roadie.

Rides well but found several issues with mounting locations for fenders & luggage racks. In some cases holes are partially blucked by rear throughaxle handle or handle cannot rotate until accessory rack unbolted. Front mount rack mount blocked by brake cable. Just lots of poor design choices.

I have a Cannondale Topstone 105, and it’s a pretty great bike. I like the frame, which is the same frame as the Topstone 4.

TCR isn't an endurance bike so I would probably not look at that one.

Personally I just went from a Cannondale Topstone AL to Endurace CF SL 8. 'similar' geometry but so much lighter with CF .

Love the utility of the gravel bike. Competent bike even on simply single track. As much road bike as I need on the pavement. Perfect!
