I'd go with a 7ft Penn Battle combo or a Daiwa BG combo in a 4000 size. Spool it with 20lb braid. Power pro super slick or Berkley X9 and you are in business

I paid for 9 strand and was given 5 strand?

The line looks nice and all but I paid for x9 and was sent X5, not cool at all.👎

I may update the review after I actually use the rod but I didn't realize I'd been had until AFTER I spooled the reel, I'm not very happy about it, and I probably won't bother.😕

Best Color Fishing Line?

Just get a smooth braided line if you don’t like the sound through the guides. Sunline Siglon X8, Power Pro Super 8 Slick V2 and Berkley X9 are great examples of smooth braided lines.

Looses color/dye

Bought this for new rod and deep water lake fishing. Once the line was wet it seemed to start bleeding the yellow color. Dripped and stained new reel. Also the line seemed to float on the water until it got really wet which is when the line dripped the yellow dye.
