there are many many many better brands. Momoi gen 3 comes to mind first. J-braid x8 is also extremely good. Suffix 832 is also amazing.

Used it for the first time. I like that it is thinner than power pro and it feels smoother when casting. My major gripe that i noticed with this is at the end of the day (4 hour fishing session), I noticed the line on my reel was slightly frayed. It looks like the strands were starting to come apart...

12-15# braid, 8-strand construction will do you fine; personally I like Daiwa J-Braid X8, pretty inexpensive, thin and strong. You're also under filled, line should be level with the lower lip. I'd also recommend that you learn a good knot for a braid to mono connection. Double Uni Knot is simple and strong.

I really liked this line, but for my purposes using on s spinning reel, it is not a good choice. It is very thing and supple, which seems good, but it leads to lots of wind knots, and loops on the spool. I will agree with what has been posted, J-Braid x8 is smoother and limper then PP by I good bit. I like it on spinning reels but hated it on casting ones. It seems to dig in more often and I don't trust the knots as much in the thicker tests.

I typically like Power Pro and Sufix 832. Thought I'd give this stuff a try. It feels amazing...very supple and soft. And therein likes the problem. I have never seen line of any sort that likes to knot and tangle like this stuff does. And once there's a knot it, there is no untangling it...you have...

Daiwa J-Braid x8 is amazing and frankly I don't know how it sells for so cheap. Leader I line I like P-Line tactical fluorocarbon or either of the fluorocarbon that Berkley makes. I usually have 3 different tests for my all around set up; 4lb, 8lb, 10lb.
