What Nook should I go with?

Go for the Glowlight 4. The 4e is the cheap/economy model. Both are the same size (they use the same body), but the screen resolutions are different. The 4 has a 300ppi screen, the 4e has 212ppi.

Looking into a new ereader under $150, is the Nook Glowlight 4 any good?

If you want something open you want a pocketbook or likebook p6 (the onyx being out of you price range). The bottom line on the glowlight 4 is it has fantastic hardware but sub-par firmware/software and its technically android but a modified version of it that is not open such as likebook.
