I’d recommend looking at the ASUS ProArt PA278QV. It’s a 27 inch IPS display with 2560x1440 resolution. It has 100% sRGB coverage and accurate colours for photo and video editing. It’s also around your $500 budget.

Good but Not great...I wish I bought a 4k monitor! This is especially when looking at YouTube in full screen.

Unfortunately, it also has bad color and luminance uniformity. It is not as bad as it was on 27GL83A, but the top of the monitor is still significantly cooler and brighter than the bottom. Now I am debating whether to return it and get ASUS ProArt PA278QV instead. This monitor has everything I need except 144Hz, which I can live with.

First, I'm not being PAID for this review. All my research was on-line (user reviews, YouTube, manufacturer, etc..). Since I'm no longer working, my comparative opinion is based on devices I own (iPad Pro, existing monitor, cell phones, etc..). I'm not a professional photographer or content producer...

P-3/Rec2020 Color Accurate to at least 90% and HDR10. I don't play many games anymore, only really Dota2 and Cyberpunk, I'll play some fps from time to time. My GPU is a 1080 Strix, so I don't my monitor can handle much higher than 60hz anyway and it's unlikely I can afford a upgrade to my GPU anytime soon. This monitor will be a reference (2nd monitor) so I think it won't need to be a higher refresh rate anyway.

I've looked high and low for the least expensive (but good), photo/video editing monitor and I kept coming back to the [ASUS ProArt Display PA248QV 24.1” WUXGA (1920 x Max refresh rate is 75 Hz. It's 16:10, which I love (I also write code), it's factory calibrated, and it's cheap.
