I’ve wasted so many hours doing side by sides, recording them, listening back through monitors, etc.. V810 always wins). In goes your guitar sound, out comes a perfect nectar of overdrive tone. You cannot beat it no matter how hard you try. On the right is the Vox V830 distortion booster, a perfect ‘chimey’ distortion that, with an EQ pedal right after, is capable of creating just about the sweetest sounding distortion imaginable.

What are some different sounding overdrives?

If you want you clean tone but with a little dirt, without changing the tone too much. Bluesbreaker family of pedals: the original Marshall bluesbreaker, and it’s derivatives, of which the Analogman King of Tone is often looked to as the best. They’re transparentish in they don’t have as much of a midboost like the Klon or the TS, but the shelve off some bottom end/bypass clipping on the bottom end so not the same thing that the Timmy has going on.

Favorite pedal ever?

I'm lucky enough to have made to the top of the list and got a King of Tone about a year ago. I'm not sure if it's worth the wait, but the love and accolades are all deserved. It's the best sounding overdrive
