Acer disables BIOS for laptops sold through Amazon? (2020)
Overall better than a cheaper brand like Acer from what I could see from my friends devices. But there have been some low points. Dodgey motherboards on multiple generations of T series laptops, Superfish and whitelisted wifi cards on the yoga, and generally poor quality screens for a variety of reasons gives one pause before buying the next one.For the first time in a couple of decades I've taken the risk and branched out to the Acer Spin 5. I am pleasantly surprised. Not perfect either but not nearly as cheap as I had feard.
Opened a tab with probably 100 gifs and they all loaded pretty quickly. It's very light, lighter than the 713. Screen is pretty vibrant and easy on the eyes. no complaints so far.

This laptop surprised me with how good it is, but it isn't perfect. Honest review ahead!
For some backstory, I have never been one to buy a product based on its peripherals, such as touchscreen, or keyboard, or anything of that nature. I've always wanted pure power. My first few laptops were purchased based on me weighing how fast it is for the buck. This purchase was different because ...

For the cheapest decent option, the Acer Aspire 5 It has an FHD IPS Screen, An SSD although a little small, and good battery life. The Best deal for an everyday use laptop is as mentioned the HP 14 Laptop and if you need something with the same horsepower but with a better build quality Acer Swift 3 is a great option with a good discount as well. For 2 in 1 the Lenovo Flex 5 Again with great discount it does have a dim screen but for indoor use, it's a great laptop and if you want something better screen the Acer Spin 5 has a 13.5" 2K 2256 x 1504 IPS Touch with great color accuracy. For a 17.3" Screen option the Acer Aspire 5 A517 Is one of the Few 17.3" screen laptop's in this price range that has a FHD screen again with a decent discount.

Actually, what I'm really looking forward to is Acer Spin 5 AMD, which has 3:2 screen and more ports. It has been out for about a month in China, hopefully will be available elsewhere soon.
Chromebooks under 350 euro for Europe - whats the best option?
Im a student and own an Acer Spin 513 and absolutely loathe it. This thing seems to be a ticking timebomb so I need to return it asap and get a better chromebook for the same price.

Acer Spin 5 (SP513-52N-58WW) Review
3-inch Spin 5 is a competent, albeit generic, choice for a convertible laptop.

When a Ryzen 2 in 1 / convertible laptop with a 3:2 or 16:10 aspect ratio is available, let me know!
I really like the Acer Spin 5, but they don't offer it with the Ryzen processors. However, they do offer it in their Swift models.

I recently switched from a Lenovo Duet (the 4GB RAM one) to an Acer Spin 513 due to ram constraint and CPU problems. I loved my Duet a lot so I tried to search the lightest, best money valued Chromebook out there without really looking for an incredible computational power and being stick to ARM. Despite the numerous bad reviews, I decided to give the Spin 513 8GB ram a try (being in warranty, I am still able to return it). So far, so good.
