The image is around 85 inches diagonal at 3 yards projection distance. Pictures are take from about two yards away at an angle. Still though I think you all will agree that the Acer offers a really terrific value currently. Its significantly quieter than the Elephas too - you can easily hear the fan from that in the videos.

Don't use the built in media gui, plug in a firestick or chromecast for best results.

Cheapest portable 85hz projector?

If 85 Hz is a must for you, then you might have a bit of an issue I have found that manuals sometimes aren't exactly accurate. For example, my projector is an Acer K137 (Which cost me $100) . Its manual states that it can do 85 Hz, however I tested it and it will not work for me, it tells me that the input is unsupported, yet it does 60, 75, and even 120 Hz just fine.

All around nice unit, especially for the price

All around nice unit, especially for the price. PROS: Small, LED long life bulb, HDMI input, integrated speakers. CONS: 700 lumens is not bad but still a little weak for larger output - not as focused at larger outputs as a result.

What is the tech in the BIGASUO B509 projector (cheap-o $100) in which it doesn’t exhibit rainbows?

They are cheap to make and sell, but the intense LED light typically will cause burn marks on the LCD within a year or so. One note - for some reason LED based DLP projectors do not seem to have the same Rainbow Effect, at least in my experience. I can definitely see RE on my BenQ HT1085ST if I move my head too fast, but in general it doesn't bother me at all. On my Acer K137 there is zero RE any way I move my head.

Wifi not available

Advertised to have a wireless capability but the wireless adaptor is not for sale in North America yet. Remote also not intuitive to use.
