720p should be an absolute minimum. There are a number of options in the price range you are considering, even some that are 1080p native like the Aaxa P7, or the Xgimi Mogo Pro. Even the older Acer K137 that I've posted about a few times would be a better option than the Viewsonic for sure, but not sure if you can still source one of those in the EU for the price they are available for here right now (less than $100).

I'm after settling on one of these 2 for my bedroom theatre. 
Its my first time buying any type if projector but have taken a like to these 2 , Xiaomi because i love the brand and have used their phones before and viewsonic because it has consistently popped up on my best portable projector searches. 
I can get a viewsonic second hand for 250 euros but I'll have to pay full price for the Xiaomi at 450 Euros . 
Taken this into account what would you go for ? 
Any other info i might have overlooked would be welcomed..

Its almost six-inch standing height meant that this projector never needed any form of support to ensure unimpeded projection. Unfortunately, despite its incredible projection power, this projector isn't truly portable. Shaped like a brick, and heavy to boot, the XGIMI MoGo Pro was a pain to lug around. Also, its included guide for how to use Netflix and Amazon Prime is not the easiest to process. However, the projector does boast plenty of other Google Play Store services. Another big thing to consider is audio, as most projectors speakers are pretty terrible if they have them at all. I ended up going with a 1080P XGIMI Mogo Pro portable, which was on sale for \~$450. It runs Android TV so you can install whatever streaming apps you want directly on the device (except for Netflix). For using Netflix and Stadia I plug in a Chromecast Ultra, which can also be powered off the projector's USB port

I've done a bit of research and that leaves me in the realm of a portable projector to maybe put on a nightstand and keystone in, then pack away when not using or a short throw to go on the chest of drawers in front of the wall and then conceal it.

I'm not going to game on this, it's purely for the odd time we've gone to bed and one of us wants to watch something. Picture quality doesn't have to be fantastic, just useable. Would be nice for the projector to have its own speakers, and I'm not too worried about in build smarts, can always plug something into it.

Portable or Short Throw for Mid Size Bedroom

0 and dual band Wi-fi, so connectivity shouldn't be an issue. A 65-watt charger is included in the package, as well as this sleek white remote control which has a tiny switch on the base, making the volume keys into a fine focus adjustment if you need it, which you probably won't anyway because it automatically focuses itself. Setting up the device was ludicrously simple. Thanks to the deep Google integration, all I had to do on my phone was say Google set up my device and it transferred over the wi-fi password through bluetooth and then I use the Android Tv url to transfer my login details for my Google account

 Though I would have preferred a slightly larger device which would have allowed them to fit in a larger driver for the speaker and a larger battery. Anyway, thank you for watching. XGIMI Mogo Pro+ Review: Finally, a Decent Portable Projector (Mostly)

 Though its brightness is 300 Nc Lumens, which is not spectacularly bright, but we'll get to that in a second. It's got 40 degree horizontal and vertical keystone correction. It's got dual band Wi-fi supporting both 2.4 and 5 gigahertz wi-fi networks, and it's got bluetooth 4

 I really like that it's silent and the on-board audio is quite good as well. you can hear that. The speaker quality is definitely decent. The only downside I found is that the lower content so the base and the lower mids don't come through as loud as with bigger speaker drivers, so the low end and the base are not as great as I would have hoped for

 It uses around 55 watts of power and it can work with anything from 100 to 240 volts at 50 or 60 hertz, so you should be able to use it globally. Its noise levels are below 30 db, so that's really barely audible. but what is audible are the internal 3 watts Harman Kardon speaker drivers that give you stereo sound. The media could not be loaded. I currently have Towond 6500LUX projector and while it's pretty good projector for its price, I just couldn't resist getting this Xgimi Mogo Pro projector when I saw it at my friend's house so I decided to treat myself and my family and got this for Christmas! I was immediately attracted to this projector when I saw it in action for 2 simple reasons: 1) built-in Harman/Kardon speaker and 2)it virtually has no fan sound! While it's not fair to compare this projector to my previous Towond projector since it would be like comparing a Lexus to a Toyota but one thing that really bothered me with Towond projector was the sound of the fan spinning. Even with the volume turned up high, I was able to hear the loud fan spinning sound when there was no dialog or music in the movie and this got annoying very quickly. This Xigmi Mogo Pro projector has virtually no fan sound even when I'm sitting right next to it! On top of that, the Harman/Kardon speaker is just the icing on the cake

[+] Love the built-in rechargeable battery that allows you to play up to 2 hours unplugged.  Anytime the projector is moved it auto calibrates the picture for you.  Sound: Harmon kardon speakers are great.  The manual keystone controls did the trick and gets exactly what I want! Android TV is smooth and familiar since I also have a NVIDIA Shield. Remote is much better than average and wireless is a big plus. Then only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is Netflix not yet certified to work. If that happens, will gladly update to 5 stars
