Victorinox Swiss Army Classic Paring vs Gerber center drive

It's too early to tell how well they hold their blade and if they can be easily sharpened. If there are any issues I will come back and update this review. The knife blade works great, I love the Center Driver itself, it works really well for any MT, and the pliers deploy out very smooth and feel solid. The only reason I have removed one star was because I felt the sheath was lacking in equal awesomeness. I'm not a huge fan of it because its super basic and nothing too great like the new Sheath Gerber just released, that should have been included for sure instead. Anyhow I have a similar Gerber sheath that I have never used before and its Coyote Brown and like it more so i've been using that and it works great

It has a quality serrated blade that still looks new after 9 months of light daily use. The handle is made of thin and rather slippery plastic, and while the description claims it to be "Fibrox Inspired", as an owner of a Victorinox knife with a Fibrox handle, I can safely say that they're taking some creative liberties with that one. If ergonomics are right up there in importance with blade quality, this isn't the knife for you, but if all you're looking for is a quality blade at a budget price, it's a great option.

It's a GOOD VALUE I don't want to understate that. It's made to be lighter. Despite it's light weight it's quite durable. I keep hoping it'll wear out so I can spend a LOT more for a Leatherman, and have to buy the belt holster and extra bits separately, to boot

I’d recommend sticking to the 3.25” I don’t know what ergonomic principle they were following with the handle. It is thin, hard plastic. The bolster extends past the edge, making it less nimble

Tool shopping without trying stuff out can be tough. I might recommended checking a local REI or Cabela’s because they often will let you handle a multi tool before buying! Your hands will notice plenty that your eyes won’t, you can believe me on that

Disclaimer: Not a normal review, this is a vegetable knife, but also a very versatile butcher knife! If you are queasy, or anti-hunting/meat - probably not the best for you to read so avert your squimish little eyes, por favor. As an avid hunter/outdoorsman who processes their own game instead of taking it to a butcher, finding the right, no, perfect tools for the job make it much more pleasing and satisfying. If you don't like reading, let me just tell you right now, buy this knife; I have tried so many types of knives for processing deer and this is the best one hands down! This isn’t the review of “OH, it’s pretty and it’s new!!!” This is the review after two years of use. Generally speaking, I’m a Leatherman guy. I got my first Leatherman (the original PST) when I was 10. Now that was and is a high quality, well made tool

Don't waste your money on anything more expensive than $10 because with the amount you'll be using these, like David Chang (famous chef) said, you'll go through them.

the screwdriver is the main reason i got it and works great no complaints. now the not so great, the flick open trick is nice when you get it right but by design the tool is going to stick when it gets dirty and who hasn't dropped there tool is the mud/sand/ect. it will come out of it after some cleaning time, the pry bar is small and akward and bends more than what you are trying to bend with it, the real reason for this review is the replaceable cutters in the pliers is a great feature except when they break into pieces after trying to strip 12 gauge wire and you look to find the replacements are 23 US $ a set and i am not the only one with issues after finding reviews after the fact. it is clearly a design flaw using hardened cutters and gerber should not be charging for a fix

Now I I wish I had tried gluing it. Instead I thought maybe it was time for a new knife. Chose the Victorinox based on reviews. The knife is very sharp and works well, but I was very disappointed in its weight: very thin and light

The knife is sharp out of the box & larger than the ones that come on Leatherman tools. The bit driver is sturdy and is compatible with my all my bit collection in my tool box. I wish the tool was a bit lighter and also included scissors like my a Wave. While the tool does include a nylon sheath that accommodates the bit set, the belt loops are too big and flimsy so it can't handle the weight of the tool in the horizontal position
