Seem like nice bindings but do not fit on my Ride DH snowboard because i have the 4x4 pattern instead of 4×2. You would think for 250 dollar bindings you could get a replacement mini disc or they would be universal but that is not the case. Waste of time and money very stupid design by Union.

So the high back is also a CP3 high back, just really light, really responsive, and really comfortable. We also have the forward lean adjustment here on the back, so midway through the run if you want to adjust it, put on some forward lean or take it off, really easy, quick adjustments for you. Overall, just a really great binding

Union Contact Pro 2019 Snowboard Binding Review - Tactics

 Forward lean, super easy. I like that. I like it way better than the Falcor, but it's the same as the Atlas and the Force. Now overall as a binding, this Contact Pro is really recommendable for a mountain freestyle board or a park board, but it could even work if you want a buttery, mid-level turning, smooth response kind of board for riding in powder days or just pairing it up with easier turning boards that are freeride boards, that are all mountain boards

I would say though you're definitely going up a big notch with the Atlas because of that rubbery bottom. It is just more damp at higher speeds, but it doesn't have that slow speed kind of like playing around in the park, kind of freestyle shock absorption like the Contact Pros do

 So very good, very easy flex underfoot. Kind of right there with Burton Reflex and some of the best in the industry when it comes to allowing a board to flex underfoot easy. Now when it comes to turn initiation response, as far as it goes in unions line, this is not the most responsive binding. It's just kind of like middle ground

 They've just done a really good job at making a park-oriented, soft, flexing binding still be responsive, and you could still take this... Anyone competent enough would just not miss a beat all over the mountain with this

Union Contact Pro 2021 Snowboard Binding Review

 A really great thing about the Union Contact Pro is that it comes with Union's mini disc. The mini disc is slightly smaller than your standard disc that you're going to bolt on your snowboard and when you bolt the disc on to your snowboard it creates a dead zone in the snowboard. It doesn't allow it to flex. So with the mini disc what that does is allow your snowboard to have a little bit more of a natural flex to it and you can feel a difference and I really loved it for trying to do tail and nose presses and stuff like that

 This is the Union Contact Pro. I picked this binding up 100% to strap on to my Capitol horoscope because this is known for being a good freestyle and really buttery jibby binding. A really great thing about the Union Contact Pro is that it comes with Union's mini disc. The mini disc is slightly smaller than your standard disc that you're going to bolt on your snowboard and when you bolt the disc on to your snowboard it creates a dead zone in the snowboard

 On these, they're really easy to just, you know, kind of fold out of the way. They stay out of the way and it's a lot easier to get in and out of than the Malavita. So for those short park runs when you're on the toe rope and say, I try to, you know, avoid un-clipping, but if you have to unstrap on a crowded day, it's nice to have something that's easy to get in and out of. They're really comfortable, lightweight, and they offer a lot of flex and tweakability when you're trying to really, you know, jib into those tricks

What are the “go to“ bindings these days ?

 For the adjustments in placement of this toe strap, there's two different adjustments on the ladder on the medial side. So they have one that's closer to your toe side edge, and then one that's closer to your heel side edge. Just two slight adjustments. So just some micro adjustments there, and then the ankle strap, you know, again 3D contour molded, nice foam injected that's actually stitched on

Now this is size large, and the size large accommodates, you want to remember, it's like, it's basically 10 plus, size 10 plus I think, but gosh that looks good

2021 UNION STRATA FIRST IMPRESSION/ SNEAK PEEK!!

I wouldn't go as soft as the Strata for a board like the Mercury, but that's because I see it as a board to ride all over the mountain, even on some harder lines that benefit from more response. The Cartel X, or the Union Atlas, seem like overkill, though. Too stiff for a do-it-all deck like the Merc. Personally, I'd go Union Force, Burton Cartel, Nitro Team, Ride C-6, Rome Katana

Just bought the Capita Mercury 158 Wide and I’ve been doing research on best bindings. What I’ve seen so far is the Burton Cartel X is the best for being on the stiffer side. Looking for other options since they don’t sell on the REI website. Does anyone have experience using the Union Strata bindings or something similar?

Best bindings for Capita Mercury board

 It's very thin so it's really lightweight, it's not bulky but it's got some decent padding on the inside and it's 3D molded. I've been really happy with it so far. In my experience once you tighten it down it just kind of disappears, you can't even feel it anymore. It's a super super comfortable ankle strap

 You're also going to get Union's new Forma ankle strap on the Strata. I'm really stoked on this feature, it's a really really comfortable ankle strap. It's very thin so it's really lightweight, it's not bulky but it's got some decent padding on the inside and it's 3D molded. I've been really happy with it so far

 You can still feel those little bumps as you're cruising around, you know what's going on under your feet while minimizing those shocks you can feel sometimes in your ankles and your knees as you're going over choppy terrain. The Strata's are a pretty well rounded flex honestly. Like a more medium maybe just on the stiffer side a medium flex. I've found that the high backs are still relatively tweakable

 They grip the boot really well, they grip the board really well as you're mounting the bindings but the big thing is that they help a lot with dampening. They're not passing all those vibrations up into your feet so it's a much more comfortable ride but they're still a pretty good board feel. You can still feel those little bumps as you're cruising around, you know what's going on under your feet while minimizing those shocks you can feel sometimes in your ankles and your knees as you're going over choppy terrain.  And the EVA foam just bends easier. Yeah. Or flexes, gives easier. So it allows the board to bend easier

 Get a different angle on your toe. Yeah, if you're on the bigger side, you put it forward. If you're on the smaller side, you put it back. And the toe straps are the best toe straps out there

 Not maybe the best like the Contact Pro or like if you want to compare it to Burton Reflex. These foot beds are just a touch bigger and we touched on that than let's say the Atlas. So if you're one of those people that's like a ten and a half, you can fit down into a medium here. Which most ten and a halfs

 So I think that's the biggest standout straight away about the Stratas. They've changed the ankle strap, it looks like slightly. In the past it was a mix of plastic with some material stitched in, and it looks like they still have some stitching on half of the ankle strap, but the ankle strap has changed up slightly. And then the toe strap has got the webbing as well, so great for holding onto the toe of your boot

 I always lean towards trying to fit into a smaller binding because you just get more of that snug fit around your boot. It says here large is 10.5 plus, medium is 8 to 10, and small is 6 to 7.5

 The flex of the high back feels like a medium stiffness. So more leaning towards all mountain riding. But I know a lot of people do take these into the park as well. But traditionally, I think the Forces, their strength is for riding the whole mountain through powder, trees, carving on the resort
