It's insane They're flat though up at the top So they don't really get in your way and they've got a ton of foam at the top of them So you're not gonna get any cap right out of them unless you're four foot nine or a woman So don't worry too much about that overall. It does have some torsional flex to it So again, not gonna get in your way too much but straight back It's a stiff supportive responsive highback kind of like I mentioned talking about straps This that new strap puts this binding more on that stiffer end of your all-mountain freestyle side So it's gonna have support. It's gonna have dry and you're gonna be able to put these bindings on stiffer boards You've got that really tall supportive highback that stiffer ankle strap and that 45 glass stiffer frame underneath you It does have reflex you are gonna get a little bit of that flex Laterally on this binding to just move around on top of the board as well as just give you truer board flex and better Or feel underfoot

I would grab cartels now with this stiffer strap I've actually kind of gravitated a little bit more towards the Mala Vita It just adds that level of stiffness to this binding that Burton really always talked about it had but didn't so It actually is more accurate to what Burton has always been calling the cartel and it definitely puts it into that more stiffer All-mountain charger kind of feel to it and for me, it's just a little bit more than I usually prefer Overall, it's a really solid binding if you're looking for something you're a bigger dude You just like stiffer bindings wherever check out the cartel

The 2019 Burton Cartel Re:Flex Snowboard Binding Review

 Hello snowboarders of the internet. I am your host Kevin Hub here with another review and today

 We're going to be talking about the Burton Cartel reflex

 So I wrote these guys on the new deep thinker

 It is a stiffer more aggressive kind of freeride freestyle board from Danny Davis's brain

 And they match that pretty well if the cartel matches up to just about anything

 But definitely a little bit on the stiffer side for sure so with Burton bindings

 Plastic or nylon or whatever you want to call it frame and with that you don't get a ton of adjustability

 There's just not a ton of places to really put it

 So you do have your forward lean adjustment, which is the spin dial that's on the back of the high back

 It's nice and seamless. It's pretty easy to use you do get your little indicators back there to

 Tell you where it is forward lean the straps are on tool as bolts flip them spin it out

 Adjust it where you need to find the hole

 Let's line the back in spin it back down tighten back up honestly that's pretty much it for adjustability with these guys

 But with the three different frame sizes you get in men's in women's

 That's all they really need to operate it Burton updated the cartel straps actually last year to the

 Newer honeycomb strap that they're using on these guys versus the one they're using on the model

 The genesis and these ones are a little bit stiffer

 They're still that injected plastic honeycomb that doesn't cause any pressure points

 They're super comfortable and they disappear in your foot, but this version compared to the other two

 It is a little bit stiffer. So it's a little bit stiffer to drive into it's a little bit stiffer side to side and

 Helps make the cartel the binding that Burton always told you it was because they've always been telling you it was a little bit

 Stiffer than the Mala Vida, and I never actually felt like it was so with this new strap

 It just locks you down into the binding a little bit more

 And I actually feel like it stiffens up the binding overall because of how much more locked down

 I think they call it the getty grip toe strap and it works

 Well, it conforms over just about any boot shape out there

 It's a really nice toe cup shape and I've never had any issues with it

 If you've got a super super crazy boxy toe cap, maybe it has some issues

 But even still it's a really tried-and-tested toe strap. The ratchets on these are Burton's classic

 Two-piece ratchets. So you have your aluminum lever and you have your plastic

 Climbing teeth the plastic teeth aren't gonna tear up your ladder

 So you're gonna get a little bit more durability out of that

 They still climb just as good as anything else and let's face it. These are Burton ratchets. They're solid

 I've never had an issue with a Burton ratchet pretty much ever

 And I think they probably make some of the best ratchets in the industry

 So you can trust these the cartel highbacks are possibly the tallest highbacks in the entire industry

 They are massive. They just keep going up and up and up. It's insane
