TWSBI ECO Black vs Faber-Castell Loom

Personally, I like the TWSBI eco for its large ink capacity and comfort. It has a good weight to it and there are beautiful colors! :)

Faber-Castell e-Motion pure black with Edelstein Star Ruby, Opus Omar 88 clear demonstrator with Edelstein Jade Green and Visconti HS Lava Color White with Edelstein Topaz Blue.

It uses cartridges, but doesn’t come with a converter. The TWSBI Eco is a great pen that may be more than you are thinking of spending ($30) but is a really nice pen that could be a buy it once and done. It is only bottle fill, and that adds about $10 for ink, but the pen is great and hold a lot of ink. Depending on your use this can be a factor

Faber-Castell Loom/Essentio-- the best bang for the buck and one of the best steel nibs. Much better than any Lamy.

Now writing with this pen is where I have my problems. I compared it to the Lamy Safari and Metropolitan Pilot which are both cheaper than the TWSBI ECO and both write several orders of magnitude smoother than the TWSBI ECO. This pen is incredibly scratchy and this was directly comparing to the other 2 pens with 2 different inks. Carbon Ink Black and Waterman Serenity Blue

Faber Castell USA is awful. They know nothing about fountain pens and send canned responses to avoid taking responsibility.

I really like Lamy Safari and Al-Star because they force me to correct my grip. But for longer periods, I like my TWSBI Eco! I rotate the three because my grip is slightly different with each, and that seems to help with hand fatigue.

I would've passed on the Faber Castell Loom and the TWSBI Eco. The loom is a nice pen but the grip section is a bit too heavy to my liking. As for the Eco, I would've skipped it and go straight to the 580s. Prefer the weight and grip of the 580s
