TP-Link EAP660 HD vs Ubiquiti UniFi FlexHD

Multiple home wireless connection tests with my cell phone yielded 390 mbps or less on the EAP 245, while the Archer A7 connected at 780 mbps. I tried multiple configurations, making sure that only one device was powered on at a time, to insure no interference from the other device. In addition, the EAP 245s coverage to devices on my second floor was marginal. Tests with my laptop yielded similar results - 450mbps speeds connected to my old Archer A7, while the EAP 245 topped out at about 190mbps - all devices I tested were in the same room as both the EAP 245 and the Archer A7

Both have 802.11ac adapters, with my desktop having an AX adapter. My signal strength is also 'meh'. I thought I was missing something huge and obvious but something seems off

Primary services first floor office and second floor above I have a pro on low. Performed site survey with NetSpot Pro and used Android Wifi Analysis app. I turned off power to all AP's except Flex HD and wall penetration is low which isn't consistent with transmission and antenna gains. The pro should not have superior coverage, but it does in my testing

Most of all, it is UNACCEPTABLE to offer no replacement for a BAD devices for over a month and market that system as a "Business" class device. Who has more than a month to wait on a piss-poor managed company? Like I said in my title, "MAKE SURE YOU HAVE SPARES"

UPDATE- it's been 5 months, and my to UNIFI WAPs, (this, and an AC PRO) have been working flawlessly. I ended up ordering a couple of Intel based PCI NICs for a couple of my computers so they can take advantage of AC (I've been using N since before AC existed and these are my first AC WAPs) and I have good coverage.

I noticed a good 30%-35% drop in 2.4GHz range, and a smaller but still definitely noticeable drop in 5GHz range. UBNT says they designed this AP to perform better on 5GHz than 2.4

RTFM folks. The instructions are in the manual! Setup took about 15 minutes but only because after I updated the firmware I had to set all up again.

They push firmware to your devices even when automatic updates are disabled. Turning off the sending analytics to Unifi doesn't actually disable it, it just makes you think it's disabled so you won't complain. Go read the forums and watch the youtube videos. Unifi has lost their way and should be avoided on anything other than a test network
