Tarptent Rainbow vs The North Face Wawona 6

I ended up getting a Big Agnes Fly Creek 2, and it’s not perfect but it works well in those humid conditions—but the trade-off is that it’s heavier than a UL single wall tent. Others might have different and better experiences with single wall tents but I just really couldn’t stand the condensation.

Zippers work smoothly. Cons: Windows don't open from the inside, storage bag provided is not structured at all and packs up pretty bulky.

I dig that tent feature - both of my tents have similar capabilities - Hilleberg Anjan can do the same, and my solo is Tarptent Rainbow which has a porch mode that you can use when it is raining as long as it is not too windy - in which case you can have the view and cook despite wet weather! Heck, stick a chair under the porch.

I will still give this tent a five star rating regardless of issues because of ease and features.

The few tents that weigh less than the Double Rainbow—like the Nemo Hornet, REI Flash Air, and Big Agnes Tiger Wall and Fly Creek—are made with significantly less durable fabrics. That said, it’s worth noting that the Double Rainbow does not come seam-sealed (you can have Tarptent do the service for $35 or purchase a kit to do it yourself for $8), so total weight will go up a little as a result.
