 If i had to decide between the x95j led tv and the sony, a90j or a80j oled, now that's a hard call. If we're talking the same size tvs, you really have to consider your viewing conditions and content. If you're talking brighter family room watching sports and cable, the x95j would be fantastic if you're in a bedroom and the lights will be out or if it's a darker theater room. Of course, i'd choose one of the oleds, but if it's an 85 inch x95j versus a 77-inch oled, then it's the price and the conditions and i'm sure, towards black friday and beyond the prices will help dictate, which is the better deal

 The design of the x95j is solid, with a slightly thinner, bezel, low profile or raised up stand and a more oled. Like look to the tv, including the same backing as a sony a80j, it's a pretty good. Looking tv, the remote for the sony x95j is nearly identical to last year's remote. Only a couple of the app buttons are different, but sony offers the same long skinny, bluetooth, remote

 They could make it a bit smaller, but what i really wished for was the same backlit remote that the sony a90j master series oled has. It just seems logical to me that the top 4k tvs in both oled and led would have that nicer remote. I mean really all the tv should have this remote, but you can order it online. If you want for 80 bucks - and i do that - because the backlight comes in handy in a dark room - but is this tv even good for dark rooms? Sony X95J Full Array LED TV - Review... finally

  Grey Uniformity: Every LED TV out there will have some form of grey uniformity (dirty screen effect or DSE) problems, ranging from very bad, to barely noticeable, the 950H falls into the latter category. The DSE it does have is some minor vignetting in the extremes of each corner that I've yet to notice in real world viewing.  User Interface/Operating System: As with the 950G, the 950H uses the Android UI. I'd have to guess that there was a hardware change from the G series to the H series, as the H seems a little snappier in response and load times

 The 950H has Sony's wide angle viewing on all but the 49" model, and it's a welcome improvement. You're still not going to get the wide viewing performance of an OLED, but it's helpful up to about 30° off center viewing.  Audio: Sony has touted the 950H as having greatly improved sound over previous models, and overall, I'd have to agree. Does it outperform a decent soundbar? No

 The Android UI, overall, is a pleasant experience, and offers most streaming apps that the average user will want. It doesn't offer quite the plethora of apps that Roku does, but overall, that's not a downside to me.  Remote Control: Not much to say here other than that the remote is well laid out and your fingers quickly learn where to land to execute the desired function. Definitely an improvement over past Sony offerings

  Audio: Sony has touted the 950H as having greatly improved sound over previous models, and overall, I'd have to agree. Does it outperform a decent soundbar? No. It does, however, give a much wider soundstage than most flat screens and for that, I give them a B for effort. While the sound lacks bottom end punch, it does offer one the alternative of late night viewing without disturbing others in the household, or, if you're like me, other tenants

 i bought an audio extractor, but it did not allow volume control with the TV remote using HDMI to the extractor and in turn optical and RCA red/white to the sound bar. I also tried the TV optical output direct to the sound bar. That does not work. So, Sony, find solutions!

Although its overall picture quality isn't as good as on the Hisense U6G, it's still great for gaming and comes with FreeSync VRR support to reduce screen tearing.

Gaming feels responsive because it has low input lag, so your actions appear on-screen without any delay, and motion looks smooth thanks to the quick response time. Although its backlight uses pulse width modulation to dim itself, it flickers at such a high frequency that you won't notice it and doesn't create image duplication. There's also an option to reduce the flicker for a backlight-strobing feature, but it doesn't work that well. It's a great TV for dark room gaming as it has high native contrast, and the local dimming feature in Game Mode isn't bad.

Sadly, like the Hisense, it's limited to a 60Hz panel and HDMI 2.0 bandwidth, so while it has VRR support, the refresh rate range is narrow. It has native FreeSync and HDMI Forum VRR support, so you can use it with the Xbox Series X and PS5 to get a nearly tear-free gaming experience, but because it's limited to a 60Hz panel and HDMI 2.1 bandwidth, you can't play high-frame-rate games.

It delivers a great gaming experience because it has low input lag for a responsive feel, and it has a quick response time that results in minimal motion blur. There's even a backlight strobing feature to reduce persistence blur, but it creates image duplication. It's also great for dark room gaming as it has a VA panel with a high native contrast ratio and excellent black uniformity. If you want something for the PS5 with VRR support instead, then the TCL 5 Series/S546 2021 QLED is the best budget TV for your needs. It's a good TV that mainly competes with the Hisense U6G, and while it's not as good overall or versatile, it has a few extra features to improve the gaming experience. It supports HDMI Forum VRR to reduce screen tearing, meaning it works with the PS5's VRR support.

It has a 60Hz panel with a great overall response time, so motion looks smooth. Like most VA panels, it has a slow response time with dark transitions, so there's black smearing with dark objects, but it's not too bad, and there's an optional backlight strobing feature to reduce persistence blur. It also has really low input lag for a responsive gaming experience, and you won't have any issues using it with the PS5 up to 4k @ 60Hz games, but without HDMI 2.1 bandwidth, you can't reach a higher frame rate.

Sadly, its picture quality isn't the best because it has some color accuracy issues as there's a noticeable red tint even after calibrating it, so you don't get the most accurate image possible. Still, it looks great in dark and bright rooms because it has a high contrast and gets bright enough to combat glare. All in all, it's the best TV for gaming on the PS5 if you're on a budget and want VRR support.

The TCL 5 Series/S546 2021 is the best budget TV for the Xbox Series X if you want something with VRR support. It's a good overall TV that competes with the Hisense U6G, and while the S546's overall picture quality isn't as good, you get a few more features like the FreeSync VRR support for a tear-free gaming experience.

It's very good for gaming as it doesn't have any trouble displaying games from the Xbox up to 4k @ 60 fps. But, because it's limited to HDMI 2.0 bandwidth and a 60Hz panel, you can't play higher frame rate games. Input lag is very low, and it has a great overall response time for a responsive and smooth gaming experience. It uses pulse width modulation to dim its backlight at all brightness levels, but the flicker is at such a high level you won't notice it. Although it's a slightly older model, it's still widely available and delivers a great gaming experience. It has low input lag for a responsive gaming experience and a great response time, with very little motion blur around fast-moving objects. Like the Insignia F50 QLED, it's limited to a 60Hz refresh rate, but it at least supports FreeSync and HDMI Forum VRR, which helps reduce tearing in games, and it's compatible with most PCs, the Xbox Series S|X, and the PS5.

It has an excellent color gamut, remarkably good contrast, and a full array local dimming feature to improve the appearance of bright highlights in dark scenes while maintaining deep blacks. Unfortunately, it has bad accuracy without calibration, and even after calibration, it's not the best, so if you care more for accurate colors, the Hisense U6H is a good alternative. The Hisense doesn't perform as well for gaming, as it has a much slower response time, but it delivers better picture quality overall.

If you have the PS5 or Xbox Series X, you'll want a TV with a few gaming features. While the Hisense U6H has gaming features like variable refresh rate (VRR) support, the TCL 5 Series/S546 2021 QLED also has that, and it has better motion handling, making it the best low-cost TV for gaming. You can play 4k games up to 60Hz without issue on the PS5 and Xbox Series X, but unlike some more expensive options, you can't play games up to 120Hz as its refresh rate is limited to 60Hz, and it doesn't support HDMI 2.1 bandwidth. However, this is normal for a budget TV, and you'll have to spend more if you want these premium gaming features.

It has low input lag for a responsive feel while gaming, so you won't notice any delay. It looks great while gaming in dark rooms as it displays deep blacks and has a full-array local dimming feature, but it doesn't do much to improve the picture quality in dark scenes. It doesn't worsen the picture quality either, which is great, and there's minimal blooming around bright objects.

If you're on a budget, the best gaming TV for PS5 is the TCL 5 Series/S546 2021 QLED. It's a great gaming TV with a few features to improve the user experience. It has variable refresh rate (VRR) support to reduce screen tearing, but unlike higher-end TVs like the Hisense U8H or the LG C2 OLED, you're limited to a 60Hz panel. It doesn't support HDMI 2.0 bandwidth, so games are limited to 60fps. Despite this limitation, it still delivers a smooth and responsive gaming experience thanks to its low input lag and quick response time.
