Although there aren't many 85-inch TVs in this price range, the Sony KD-85X85K is the best 85-inch TV under $2,000. It's a well-built TV with a sleek design that looks great in any home theater or living room setup. It gets bright enough to fight glare and has decent reflection handling if you want to use it in a room with a few lights around. It also has a high native contrast ratio and excellent black uniformity, so blacks look deep and uniform, with very little blooming around bright objects in dark scenes.

Unfortunately, unlike the smaller models on this list, there's no local dimming feature to improve the picture quality in dark scenes or to help highlights stand out in HDR. It's also great for gamers, as it supports HDMI 2.1 bandwidth for 4k @ 120Hz gaming from the PS5 or Xbox Series X, and it supports variable refresh rate technology to reduce screen tearing. If you want to save a bit of money, you can still find the older Sony X85J for a bit less. It doesn't handle glare as well, so it's a worse choice for a bright room, but other than that, they're pretty similar overall.

 BTW! The TV speakers are very good, decent, I could hear clearly, sharply and perfectly at lowered volumns! Back came OnTech to lower and loosen up the [their, not my prepaid] wall mount. Of course, the Giant had done everything backasswards; To make a long day shorter, the 2nd Tech was here for 2+hours. Now, I have a functioning TV, a lowered *secured* wall mount I can access, a sound bar that works. Two functional Remotes

 And especially in this current market where we got quantum dot full array local dimming televisions with all the bells and whistles, even smooth gradation, going for $500. This TV right here costs basically $1,000 for a 55-inch, where I can get a 55-inch with a higher level of peak brightness and all that other stuff. And you even get hands-free voice control on sets like the U8G. So and again, then that's the Hisense set

 The audio in the TV is crap. I mean, it's very tinny. You're going to need a sound bar. And the TV just doesn't do a lot to make you want to buy it

Sony X85K Review

 So, the Sony X85K, it's basically an okay TV that has some good points and bad points

 like all the others, but ultimately in the end, it really boils down to there are more

 affordable options on the market that give you more for the money.

 The TCL S546 and the Hisense UAG is a perfect example of that.

 Now, if you don't have access to those and, you know, for whatever reason, the Sony is

 like one of the main brands that you're stuck with, then it's an okay option.

 It's not terrible, but it can be better.

 So, I'll talk about why that is, but smack a like on the video for just getting to the

 verdict and not making you wait around for it.

 Now, if you've got a little bit more time to spare, I'm going to talk about a couple

 So, when you first unbox the television, it can be a little bit of a pain because you

 have to lift the box in such a way where either it's on a surface and, you know, you're able

 to just cut up the box however you want, just rip the box, go wreck it Ralph on it, or you're

 going to have to like pull the TV out from the top and it's a little bit more annoying

 to do or lay it down flat and slide the TV out.

 I don't like when they have TV arrangements on the box where you pull it out from the

 The box usually lifts up on most TVs, so this was definitely strange to see this happen,

 I can't really speak to that process, but it is a bit of an annoying process.

 So, the next problem is the reflection handling.

 It's not good or bad, so I think if you're in a room with a lot of windows, you're going

 to have some problems, but for most living environments, you'll be fine.

 You shouldn't have too much of a hard time because it's not exactly a mirror, but again,

 it's not the most diffused thing out there.

 Now, a real good positive point here is I really like the design of this TV.

 It does match some of their higher end stuff, so it is in the design aspect matching what

 Sony is offering at higher end tiers as far as design.

 Now, the stand doesn't need any screws, which I absolutely love, so if you're worried about

 that, don't be because you can literally just slide the feet on and you can have this TV

 The power cable is detachable, so if you have kids that knock TVs off media consoles or

 trip over it or whatever, trip over power cables or whatever your case may be, it won't

 bring the whole TV down if it unplugs, and again, if you have pets that chew wires, that

 kind of thing, you won't have any issues with getting a replacement cable.

 Now, where it becomes, again, just like an okay TV is the out of the box experience is

 It's really washed out upon receiving the TV, taking it out of the box.

 It's going to be in vivid mode, and vivid mode doesn't really do a whole lot to make

 you see the picture quality that the TV has to offer.

 Now, you can go beyond and get beautiful image quality like I've done here.

 It helps the channel out, and it saves you some time, so definitely join if you have

 this TV or buy this TV and you want to see what I'm showing here on my end.

 These are very unorthodox settings that give you the most out of your picture quality.

 Sony and most manufacturers and reference accurate calibrators have no interest in getting

 All they care about is that computer software says that it's reference accurate in accordance

 to 30 years ago, but this has a couple of different problems.

 One of the biggest problems being that no matter what you do, it's still going to look

 like an outdated television, and Sony, with their Triluminous Pro this year, doesn't really

 do it any justice because it doesn't have any quantum dots on this particular model,

 and most of their LED line doesn't have any quantum dots to speak of.

 Now, of course, you can pay for their $3,000 55-inch starting price for their A95K, but

 if you're watching this video, you're probably not going to be doing that, so either way,

 With Sony, it feels like you're forced to go into more of a upgraded tier of their lineup

 What I mean by this is that when we talk about black levels, they're uniform because there's

 no local dimming, and the native contrast that they give you is decent, so nighttime
