If you want to save money, you can get a mid-range TV like the Sony X90J. It's a bit cheaper than the LG C2 OLED and doesn't have the same perfect black levels, so you're losing out on the remarkable dark room performance, but instead, you get a higher peak brightness with the X90J. It's a 2021 model that's still available and offers great performance. Visibility isn't a problem in well-lit rooms thanks to its excellent SDR peak brightness, and the reflection handling is also decent. Even in dark rooms, its contrast is incredible, and it has a great local dimming feature to further improve the contrast.

 That's partly because it has an upgraded cognitive processor XR to create an advanced image and this makes some really fun colors and serious detail in movies that I wasn't seeing while I was watching them in other types of things like a tablet or on my phone. I love all the included video preset modes. There's like a gaming mode, there's a graphics mode, a cinema mode, a fit photo mode. It really makes it easy and it kind of selects for you as well which is going to be best in which situation so you don't have to constantly adjust on your own

 So in the apps we see all kinds of recommendations right away. You'll see the apps that I already have downloaded. Right here, this one, Bravia Core, you actually get a bunch of credits to get a bunch of free movies. So if you get this TV and you can get a bunch of new free movies already on your TV with it

 And you can move between images like this or it will just kind of change on its own after a certain amount of time. Here's a version called Alpha Clock where they have images from around the world that are taken on a Sony Alpha lens. And it's taken at different times as well in certain places. So if you hit down, you can see that first you see it at 12 o'clock and then at 1243, 132, 241, 348

 So that's kind of cool. But what's also nice is this TV is more than just a TV. It has, for example, a nice browser that you can use on it if you just download the app, of course. So there's more than one, but here's an example

 I love having this TV for movies, for gaming, and even as a piece of artwork, let me be more specific.

 First off, it was really easy to install just by myself. It kind of just slid right out of the box.

 You just have to be kind of careful with this screen because it is sensitive to compression.

 It's a flat screen. It's not curved. It has really thin bezels with just 0.39 inches at the maximum.

 And also it only has a maximum thickness of 2.83 inches.

 Now you can wall mount this pretty easily because it's really light.

 You just need one of those 300 by 300 universal mounting systems.

 Or you can just mount it on the included legs and those sit about 29.5 inches apart.

 That's because it has two 2.1 HDMI ports and one of them has eARC technology.

 Now with these two ports, you can use one of them for the 4K 120 frames per second gaming

 that is really popular among consoles and PC gamers today.

 And you can't feel any input lag using this monitor right here.

 And the other one, the eARC technology, can be used for things with the most updated audio systems of today

 like Dolby Audio Surround and DTS and things like that.

 Now this TV does offer Dolby Vision while you're watching video in some different apps

 but you can't use Dolby Vision while gaming and it doesn't have FreeSync either.

 However, it did have a firmware update for variable refresh rate.

 So the way that it games is much more smooth than any of the kinks that it had when it first came out.

 Now it's just like using Dolby Vision or FreeSync in my opinion.

 But beyond the value of those two 2.1 HDMI ports, there's a lot that you can plug into this TV.

 There's another video and remote port as well as the old-school cable and antenna input.

 Now this TV works perfectly in dark rooms and battles glare well in bright rooms because it just gets so bright.

 And it works even better in these varying conditions because it has a full array local dimming

 with excellent HDR brightness and as well it can upscale low image quality if you ever run into it.

 and it's partly because it has these special tweeters on each side.

 So that's enough talking about it, let's fire it up and I'll just show you what it does

 and all the different features it has as well.

 So right when it turns on you can see that this is Google TV up here, you can go into a search mode

 but it gives you some recommendations up here.

 You can as well go into a live mode over here if you want.

 You can see that there's plenty of live TV on this thing, not even just here but in some other apps as well.

 You know it recommends movies and shows and this is where you can go in and start looking at the apps.

 Let's dive into this a little bit and if you didn't want to dive in too deep into this

 you could just immediately go right into this button right here, hold it down.

 That's the voice activation mode and that will send you to whatever you're looking for.

 So whatever app, you could even just tell it to find a movie or a TV show and it will do it for you.
