com is $240 US dollars which is $160 less than the $400 that is the going rate for this. So I think it is fair to have slight quibbles about the value of the HD 600 right now at $400. At $300 it's getting a little bit it makes a little bit more sense I think at least in my opinion it does. But $400 could be just a bit on the high side

 What kind of music are you into? I think the 6XX at least for my preferences is a little bit better for things like classic rock heavy metal. If you're going to listen to hip hop EDM that sort of thing on either of these the 6XX is going to handle a little bit better because of the added warmth and a slightly more bass presence all that it just feels a little fuller warmer handles genres like that a little better. If you're going to be listening to a lot of vocal and acoustic music I think the 600 is probably the winner there they both sound really good for like all the genres of music that I mentioned earlier. But I think just because of their slightly different tunings the HD 6XX is matched a little bit better to rock metal those kinds of things and the HD 600 is matched a little bit better to vocal music, choral music, string quartets, folk rock, acoustic guitar and vocal kinds of performances like a Jason Isbell kind of a thing

 The original HD 600 is a legend in our hobby and its design and its sound has stood the test of time. This is one of the newer versions that has been released and I don't remember exactly when these came out but within the past 2-3 years they came up with that slightly revised model that has the little bit different styling on the headband and in the colorway and that sort of thing. This is one of the newer HD 600s but nonetheless I have wanted to hear one of the HD 600s for a long time so when a friend of mine offered these for sale at a really good price I jumped on it and now you get to hear my review of this. So like I just said this I bought used from a friend

 The last thing that I want to say here before I go is I do want to say something about the price here. $400 this is an excellent headphone $400 might be just a little on the steep side I think and that is because of the existence of this. They are technically very similar like their technical capability here between these two is almost dead even in every way. Their primary difference being the tuning which I think creates a perception of a slightly more intimate presentation here than here at least spatially intimate not necessarily vocally intimate but spatially intimate

 Something like that. Again I will do a deeper dive into the direct comparisons of these and the other Sennheisers in a short in a near term future video I hope. The last thing that I want to say here before I go is I do want to say something about the price here. $400 this is an excellent headphone $400 might be just a little on the steep side I think and that is because of the existence of this

Sennheiser HD600 (New Version) Headphone Review

 Clearly the Grado's at $100 are the least expensive with the Momentum jumping up markedly to $299, while the more recently acquired Sennheiser HD600 hit the $400 mark. When a number of them are playing notes together the Grado's sounded smeared compared to the HD600s. Not unlike a poorly created JPEG from a digital point-n-shoot versus a well-made JPEG from an original RAW processed via Adobe Lightroom. Details are are lost in the former, but the latter does a far superior job of keeping the detail even in the process of losing information

 Maybe cheap even. They do not creak and nothing flexes, but it's the only part which lets me down at all about the headphones.  The included box, while awesome for storage, is clearly not oriented for travel. But I would argue these aren't portable headphones meant for the on-the-go user

. was a welcome and astonishing difference.  Granted, the Grado's are one-quarter the cost and I shouldn't be surprised the HD600's sounded better. Markedly better

 They do not fold up. The ear cups do not turn to lay flat. And considering the amplification needed to properly drive these, using a typical portable music player (your cell phone, iPod, etc.) isn't ideal anyway

All the very positive reviews cannot be wrong.... and they aren't

 On the clears - I feel confident that I’m hearing details as they were intended to be heard. I don’t feel like I’m missing anything. Compared to the Clears, the Sundaras are like a detail microscope that is especially interesting in busy passages. The 6xx sound a little congested compared to the clears

Clear: The Clears are closer to the Sundaras than the 6xx. This isn’t a perfect analogy but the Clears feel more like I’m in the first row watching a very intimate show where the whole band is playing just for me. With the Sundaras I’m in the band. 

Clear: It’s pretty crazy how comfortable the Clears are for how heavy they are. They are so perfectly balanced on my head that I do forget I have headphones on sometimes. 

 I’m not sure how the “good” the apollo twin headphone amp is but I know I like it a little more than the amp on my macbook pro. In low frequencies, the 6xx may actually thump the hardest of the three. 

An audio engineer's first headphone review / comparison: Sennheiser 6xx, Hifiman Sundara, Focal Clear

 The K-712s (like the Q-701s) impart upon the music a non-rushed, easy to pick apart, breezy easiness. Now that I can compare them side by side, the Sennheisers definitely also have slightly bloated, bloomy bass, which tends to interfere with the rest of the music. Comfort for the HD600s is GOOD – definitely above average from what I’ve tried on but build quality of materials and craftsmanship is just so-so. As others have noted, there are some joints that look and feel pretty easy to break

 I’m not a headphone expert, though I have been using them in one form or another dating back to 1977, so a good 40 years on everything from the old Koss white eggshell looking things to Sony’s 1980s on the ear to noise canceling Sony and Bose phones. But for music (hi-fi) my AKGs had been my reference until they were damaged. But this review concerns some AKG K-712s that I purchased at the same time as the Sennheisers specifically to test. In truth I picked up the AKGs after being disappointed with the HD600s; feeling like something was missing

 And getting away from the specific impressions of the various frequency bands or "musicality" my overwhelming impression is that I'd rather buy an album from someone who mastered it on the AKGs than on the Sennheisers. I'd rather do mastering on the AKGs. In summary, I’m sticking with the AKGs and sending back the Sennheisers.

Disappointing treble extension and resolution - Do they really need time to "break in"?

 This is the fourth one I've bought new since 2018. It's still a wonderful headphone. It's still a highly enjoyable headphone. And I would like to see this headphone, especially given its technical performance, competing more directly with the 6XX at about $200

 Okay, so base response and soundstage. And I know it's weird that I'm grouping those together, but those are known weak points of the 600. They don't soundstage all that wide and they don't have all that much base. And tubes have been a big discussion for the 600 since its inception

 So this bad boy back here is the iFi iCAN. It's like ridiculously powerful, also very expensive tube hybrid amplifier, but it has a bass boost on it. And the bass boost is delicious on this. And then I'll stick this headphone on the THX 789, which is a little bit further back here and you get a very, very different sound

 But those are my thoughts on the new 600. Now I'd love to know your thoughts in the comment section down below. Do you think you'll be picking up a pair or do you think it'll be staying away and seeing how the build holds up over time? Or are you going to go with cheaper options like the 5XX and the 6XX because you like that better technical performance? All right, guys, that's going to wrap it up. Thank you very much for watching

The NEW HD600!!

 I went around one day in Sydney and tested all the earphones I could find in 3 stores and was just stunned by the performance difference in the Sennheiser compared to the rest. It was a huge difference.  

Since then I have ventured to some other models/brands and tried them out but I always come back to Sennheiser. Sennheiser is a great example of how you build a solid brand, by delivering the best performance over and over again.

I'm a very skeptical and open minded guy, and my love affair with Sennheiser started when I was backpacking in Australia. I wanted to spend some of my limited money on a good piece of earphones. I went around one day in Sydney and tested all the earphones I could find in 3 stores and was just stunned by the performance difference in the Sennheiser compared to the rest. It was a huge difference

Senn is the stable coin of headphones

I don’t care about wireless headphones anymore, I bought myself a sennheiser HD6XX with a Dac/Amp and never been happier it was literally the best $300 I’ve ever spent on a headphone, the sound quality is light years ahead of any wireless headphones out there, i still use my Sony XM4 when I only need noise canceling lol, I don’t even use them to listen to music anymore

They're about 100usd, and they link to your phone via a very high quality version of bluetooth. You can then plug your headphones into it and it'll do a better job at decoding the audio files, then powering your headphones than almost anything else in the price bracket. the BTR5 is also powerful enough to drive over ear headphones like the Sennheiser HD600's if you decide that you are ready to try something a bit more demanding!.

I would consider myself audiophile but unfortunately I don't have very expensive gear to prove that however I do like slightly bass heavy headphones as I used to buy Skullcandy and then recently switched over to JBLs (both over ear and in-ear headphones). I also have Samsung Buds+ and enjoy their sound as well. My question is can in-ear headphones ever produce the big sound over ear headphones can produce and does the driver size matter. Skullcandy back in the day used to have 10mm drivers in their Titans but slowly started reducing the size. Now most of the companies only have 6mm drivers. 1More tends to give 10mm drivers. Like I said I like punchy bass so are there any good In-ear headphones that don't cost too much but still give that sound? Because of the big sound produced by over ear headphones I like to listen to my music on those but my ears tend to get hot from excessive listening which I don't like and want go in-ear headphones.

.well as for quality, they're decent no more no less, just about loud enough with the M6, but lacking a wee bit. Worth £152 ? Not for me no.

Uncertain...

 Fostex T50rp Mayflower molded, Sennheiser 58x, Sennheiser Momentums and Monoprice M1080 open. Nothing iem before can compare to these. I was very accustom to lower quality mid high and elevated exaggerated lows. These shook my experience

 I can recommend them for those who also like resolving balanced music and nothing out of place. Not for you hard rock or EDM bass types. Maybe more research for that crowd.
