In fact, I'm so happy with the quality of the sound (which blows away my next nicest pair) that I'm already looking forward to finding something new. My setup is simple: Schiit Stack (Magni 3+ & Modi). I currently own: Audio Technica M50x (my first baby), Sennheiser HD 6XX, and the DT 1990s.

 So if you've got a really big head like that, it'll, it'll actually still work for you. Now these do clamp on your head pretty tight. I'm a huge fan of the clamp force on this. I think it's very, very comfortable

 It's going to be depending on the game and how you play. Another question that I know I'm going to be getting a lot, 6XXs or 660s. And here's the thing. My thoughts on this are with the 6XXs and the 600, you get this texture and this detail, but you also get this odd sense of smoothness to the sound

 So this is probably going to be a longer video if you want to skip to any particular part, go ahead and jump here and that'll get you to wherever you want to go. That being said, the quick and dirty of this review is buy this headphone if you've never heard 6XXs before, if you've never heard HD600s before, if you want to hear what a basic representation of neutrality is, this is a great, great headphone, especially at the price of $200. Now one thing to factor in is that the HD6XX is a very, very popular headphone, which is actually part of the reason why I recommend getting it is because it kind of offers a very good reference for a lot of people who have heard that headphone and it makes it easier for people to compare based off of that reference, if that makes any sense at all. But one thing you should be aware of is that there have been reports of very, very long waits because these are so popular

 Starting off, these are a $220 USD or about $310 AUD headphones. They're in the lower end of the mid-tier headphone range and in some ways are only a small step above some of the entry-level audiophile headphones such as the Beyerdynamic DT 880, Sennheiser's own HD 58X and the new 560S that I haven't heard yet. So there's some pretty stiff competition and the need to justify their higher price given that there's some great competition for about $50 USD less. Talking briefly about the design, these are a very simple headphone they're made of plastic but they do feel sturdy

 One of them is you might be looking at it brand new or second hand and you might be looking for an additional review and the other reason being that if you've watched my channel for a while and you're looking at other reviews and you happen to know the 6XX you'll get a better sense of how I hear things, what I like and don't like and it'll help you to use my reviews more effectively in the future. So here we go, let's have a chat about the HD 6XX. Starting off, these are a $220 USD or about $310 AUD headphones.  Overall though what I found was that the 4XX kind of was a little bit in no-man's land between the two. It didn't have the impact and bass of the DT880 that I sometimes wanted and at the same time didn't have the mid-range clarity and presence of the 6XX. So it sort of got lost in between the two and realistically I cut their listening quite short because I would either choose the 6XX or the DT880 and the 4XX didn't really come into play. That's not to say that the 4XX doesn't have its own merits but in this particular scenario I would choose either the 6XX or the DT880 before I'd reach for the 4XX

 So there's some pretty stiff competition and the need to justify their higher price given that there's some great competition for about $50 USD less. Talking briefly about the design, these are a very simple headphone they're made of plastic but they do feel sturdy. Scott reckons he's got about 700,000 hours on these, I'm guessing that's an exaggeration but they still look pretty good, you can't tell that they've been a daily driver and a workhorse they still have a good look and feel to them. That speaks to the quality and the longevity of this design despite being quite plasticky

I used these things mercilessly for 15 years, gaming and even sleeping with them on. They still work like new. You cannot go wrong with Sennheiser HD6xx or 58x series cans.

Bought these off of a gentleman who told me he's had these sence they were new and had used them daily untill he needed to sell them. After reading some of the literature I find out everything's printed 1997 (that's older than I am). Got a different cable to reduce some length (old one works great still) new pads and a headband and there still my best sounding cans. Hopefully they'll go onto my kids

1997/1998 Sennheiser hd600

They really shine with audiobooks, studying/focus, and shows/movies. I usually prefer wired headphones like Sennheiser 6XX for music but for noise cancellation and the rich bass, these make an excellent wireless bluetooth option!! Focus/study will be improved for sure wearing them. No issues with any genres I can tell, better than most Bluetooth cans out there.

 Decided noise cancellation was only nice on an airplane, and I preferred wired, donl't have to turn on or charge. If you have eyeglasses or hearing aides like I do, these are perfact. Yes I have expensive Sony noise canceling blue tooth, but the HD5XX are just in a different class, use all day, gaming, general listening. Plugged directly into Gigabyte Z690 Master mobo, no need for a DAC/amp here

Not to mention being super easy to drive, give me the conclusion that this headphone is as close as Fire and Forget headphone for me. You don't need to hassle with anything and you're guaranteed at least a serviceable degree of sound quality for your ear.

Finally decided to buy this guy after searching for a cheap closed-back headphone for a while, after contemplating between Takstar Pro 82 (or its descendant MH751), Yamaha MT-5, M40x, and SRH440. First impression: Fire and Forget. 

Being something so close to Harman target is no joke. I used to always EQ my headphone close to Harman Target, and this one is close enough that I was compelled to not EQ it at all.

Is it good? well as far as my newb ear is concerned, it is good, at least better than my SHP9500 without EQ, though IMO still slightly lacking vs HE400SE, especially the mids which is a kinda little bit hollow. The soundstage is good enough for a closed-back, and I don't feel claustrophobic using it.

AKG K361: The Fire and Forget Budget Closed Back

Takstar Pro 82 are wired headphones that seal and isolate extremely well. Sound good enough and are pretty cheap

So i share a home office room with my girlfriend,

She is taking online classes since her college is still closed due to the pandemic, meanwhile, i´m working from home and have tons of meetings.

I´m looking to buy headphones for the both of us to avoid distracting each other with our voices when we are in videocalls at the same time, since there´s only 5 ft between us.

I´d like them to have a good microphone, but since i´m planning to purchase an external mic anyway, it´s not my main concern. I just need them to isolate as much ambient noise as possible while maintaining decent sound quality.

I´ve narrowed down my options to the ones in the poll, maybe you have one (or more) of them and can help me decide which one will serve me better for what i need.

Best "Budget" headphones for a shared home office

 Get obscenely comfortable (they are also incredibly light) with angled sheepskins, and aren't bad with stock pads at all. Sounds is quite good at their price, and the bass can be 'adjusted' (I like the middle setting.).

Never had really expensive headphones but I used the hd 650 for gaming and music for 2 years. They were great but i got so tired of my hair getting nappy because of it. My friend recommended me a 50 dollar IEM and I been loving it ever since. I know there is also a rabbit hole for IEMs’ but somehow I have been able to avoid it for a year now.

I sold my Andromeda S the day after I bought a set of PowerBeats Pro. I'm not saying the PBP sound better than the Andro but my use case for IEMs is while I'm on the go and doing other things so convenience > quality. The PBP also sound really fucking good for a pair of fully wireless IEMs, especially after adding a custom AudioGram to iOS.

I don't have any crazy $1000+ TOTL headphones like some others, but my most expensive pair are the $500 Koss ESP-95X. While listening, I can tell that they are "better" than my cheaper cans. They're nowhere near the best electrostats that are available, but man, their subtlety and the level of detail they can produce constantly impresses me.

But when I get right down to it, the ones I reach for the most and get the most pleasure out of have to be my 58X Jubilees and Tin T4s; $150 and $100 respectively. They just have the sound signature that I'm looking for whenever I want to listen to music or play games. My ESP-95X collects dust while the pads on my 58X are so well-worn, they'll probably need replacing soon lol.

I think I will always have a Sennheiser 6 series in my collection. I’ve been a one headphone at a time person in general but I felt like every time I sold my Sennheiser to try something new, I always ended up buying them again. So now I’m a two headphone kind of guy.

Maybe I was lucky, but I purchased a set of Beyerdynamics 880 pro 600 ohm and haven't felt the need to upgrade. They just sound fantastic. My experience level with others is lower than most on here, but even when I've had a desire to look at other headphones. I do massive amounts of research and all roads seem to lead to my already amazing sounding headphones. I have no doubt that I haven't explored all of my options but I'm not going to go crazy  when I'm happy :)

But after hearing the R70X, whose signature and tonality just fit my preferences *perfectly* with absolute world-class comfort, I had completely given up all my other desktop sets in favor of the R70X, seeing little reason to own $3000+ worth of headphones when I'd end up using the ATs 90% of the time. In fact, the R70X was so good for me that I stepped away from the hobby for a couple years only returning recently, but even now all I really long for is the LCD-series because of its uniquely immersive and intimate experience. (On that topic, how do the LCD2C compare to the LCD2 Fazors?)
