After using Kirby, Rainbow, and Miele for years we tried Shark and it wasn't that bad. They lasted over 4 years with replacing the HEPA filter and did well for helping my grandfather's CPOD + Asthma and my own Asthma but I did have to do some minor repairs and disassembling it sucked with how often it was needed.

I'm willing to spend the money for a machine that will last me a decade, but for now want to look at $750 as my top spend. No pets, just an old house and children that make vacuuming a constant need.

But this vacuum fits perfectly on the steps with minimal overhang, weighs next to noting, and there’s no cord to worry about. Assembly was quick, it holds a charge long enough to hit multiple rooms, and dumping it is a breeze. Count me as a convert.

This is a good cordless for the money. I like that it sits in its charger, is always ready to go and doesn't require fiddling with it to get it in/out of the charger. The battery lasts about 7-10 mins on high and is adequate for my purposes. The suction and battery life don't compare to my cordless Bissell, but I use it in my cat room for cleaning up litter and hair, and have no complaints with that

The issue with the Dyson isn’t “too much suction”. The problem is with the cleaner head design, it can’t adjust high enough for plush carpeting.

Everything about the design is thoughtful. Convenient to take apart and empty, put back together, remove and clean the filter, recharge. Ease of use is unparalleled due to light weight and rotating head. All my life I have hated vacuuming, and I still don't adore it, but this little cordless machine takes away 88% of the intrinsic aggravation

Also do you guys know if I can use the Felix exhaust filters on the Dart I can't seem to find anywhere saying you can but I don't see why they'd be different. TL;DR: SEBO Dart is good vacuum.

The first one lasted a little over a year and then slowly lost its suction. I bought a dyson animal, much more expensive, and corded, which sucks so well I had a hard time using it on my thicker carpeted areas. I decided to get another cordless shark for bedrooms and our upstairs, to use once a week then maybe every now and then get a deeper clean with the dyson. It worked great for a 4 months, using it once a week, finishing the job in less than one battery charge, then the roller stopped spinning each time it turned it on after a few seconds

Sebo says that it can't be washed but I'll probably buy a replacement when it's time and then see if the old one will wash up. The second filter is the motor filter and costs around $15. Sounds kind if expensive butI do like having those filters since I have allergies. Oh and it even though the Sebo Dart is not listed as self-propelled (couldn't find anywhere that mentioned it) it feels like it is

It is worth every penny over the DU2012. Rinse the [pre-motor filter](https://kenmorefloorcare.com/filter-2/) every month or so, replace the [exhaust every six months to a year, and keep the bin clear and clean as the manual states and you should be good to go

For mostly carpet you'll want a powerhead with physical height adjustment and a bagged vacuum will last longer. The Sebo Dart and Sebo Felix are great uprights that will easily last 10 years, in fact Sebo's motor warranty is 10 years. For a canister the Miele C1 Cat & Dog and Sebo K3 are good and the Miele C3 Kona and Sebo E3 are better. If you can visit a Miele and Sebo vacuum store it's best as then you can try them out first as every vacuum moves differently and has it's positives and negatives

Last Fall, I had to take apart the vacuum and unclog it multiple times a week because it would clog itself with leaves or the combo of long pet hair and leaves. I believe the problem is a lack of power. Shark customer support only solution was to keep the vacuum's tubing clean - which did not resolve the problem long-term.

Empty it when it gets full, rinse the pre-motor filter at the top of the bin as specified, occasionally clean the screen inside of the bin whenever necessary, remove any tangling from the brush roll, and replace the exhaust filter when it becomes dirty and it is a great unit. Maintaining any vacuum cleaner is the key to making it last a long time.

Though both of these negatives are not deal breakers by any means, this Shark is after all, a very inexpensive cordless vacuum. What is a deal breaker...
