Sealy Cocoon vs Tuft & Needle Original

I picked the Cocoon because many reviews said it was comfortable and does a good job at cooling. I stay hot 100% of the time which is why the cooling tech drew me towards the Cocoon. I normally sweat in my sleep and i hope this mattress helps. But i was wonder if there is a general concensus on a mattress protector that will not effect the cooling effect of the mattress?

TLDR: So-so comfort, too hot for us. Just okay. Like many folks, I did my fair share of research prior to purchasing a new mattress. The thousands of positive reviews convinced us to give this mattress a try, plus I was impressed by the reported excellent customer service and ability to return it if it didn't work for us

Overall, I like the mattress and find it comfortable for most nights. However, even after sleeping on it for several months, I would not call it anywhere near soft. It is more of a firm mattress. Thankfully, I am generally not bothered by it unless I end up in the same position for too long because I'm overtired

-We like a responsive foam that you can change positions without getting stuck in mattress, but also want to be cradled a bit... So some sink in is good

I have now been using this mattresses for 6 months and have never had any back pain. Even though it is called Soft I find it just firm enough without ever feeling you are sinking into it. Overall delighted.

Third, it doesn't retain heat the way my previous mattresses did. I'm no longer waking up feeling like I'm baking in an oven. This was a great purchase and a real bargain (I loved a Tempurpedic Cloud I tried at a store but the $3300 price tag was a non-starter) and I highly recommend it.

1. Way cooler than the old memory foam topper. I set my thermostat to 58 at night as i sleep hot. I was always removing covers in in the middle of the night because of the heat retained by the memory foam topper

I just got a Tuft & Needle Original queen mattress. Buying and unpacking experience was just fine. Good ship times, easy to get set up, didn't take long to 'plump' out.

I did not like the price and misrepresentation. This item is not Cocoon by Sealy which is a better product, but Cocoon by Sealy from Costco at half the price

I don't necessarily feel gonna roll off of the mattress, but overall not the best edge support with the tuft needle. So now let's talk about the pros ...

When I slept on the mattress, it was way too firm. Although I ordered the firm mattress, I have two others, so I know what it is supposed to feel like. It should have a 2-inch top layer of memory foam. In this case, that layer felt like it was compressed and did not respond like typical memory foam

Tuft & Needle may just be too firm for me. :( I cannot return it because I purchased through Amazon and the 30 day trial has passed. I want to love this mattress, I think the company has the right idea and is reasonably priced. So at this point, for me, it is an acceptable mattress at a reasonable price
