If you want the biggest size you can get for under $1,000, look into the Samsung UN75AU8000FXZA. As you move up in size and maintain the same price, you lose out on a lot of features and performances, and that's the case here as it's an entry-level TV available in a large size. You don't get any of the high-end features of the TCL 6 Series/R646 2021 QLED or the Hisense U8H, like the full-array local dimming feature and high peak brightness, but it's still a decent TV that looks good in dark rooms as it displays deep blacks with excellent black uniformity.

It comes with Samsung's proprietary Tizen smart platform, which is also user-friendly, and navigating through the menus feels smooth. Smart features would only work if they were completely compatible. I have 3 tablets and other laptops that are on Android this is on it's own Tizen platforms. Now I know people are going to say just use the Google apps not all those apps will work with every Android. If you have older laptops, tablets, smart devices around the house you will have trouble with the remote pairing

  The remote control is a waste Soo small, but the big headache is the TV and remote and how they "don't" work together , if you are in one setting and want to just go home, guess what it's not allowed you have to back out of each setting by using the back button you can't just hit home. This is the new Tizen system, go with the Android it's used a heck of a lot more pairs easily with your electronics. In a last try to get this unit to operate with my other equipment a call was made to Samsung, they were completely understanding and we tried together to find different apps on Google that allows my other equipment to pair for 75 minutes it was a no hitter. The end result update or buy new electronics that have the correct versions

Not what I expected

  * As purchased there are numerous apps you cannot delete or unload, and when trying to reorder the Home bar owners are not allowed to change the position of certain services, whether or not they ever use that app. The unit itself may at times reorder what you've previously changed.  The unit also gets confused frequently by this "last app" feature when trying to restart the hard-coded SAMSUNG TV+ channel (some kind of horse soap opera titled Heartland, but when we first got it a holiday music video channel was the default) after being off or having been used for another source input. For example, if you haven't watched a blue-ray in a month, the TV may decide to keep turning on the player anyways (empty of a disc, mind) every time or most times you repower the flat panel

 While a DVD played music disc may only require 10 or less (out of 100) on the bar programs that would blow out your eardrums on an old tube television typically require settings at least around 40, and it isn't uncommon to bump into the 70s for movies or shows targeted towards Dolby setups. A recent rental of Maverick required a bump into the 80s and still felt kind of muted in many portions of the film, yet far too loud in others; very inconsistent overall as per usual with this unit.  I haven't decided if the TV rates a separate purchase of a sound bar able to hook up via optical cable.  In sum, ignore the hype as there are no smart features or advantages to owning this "smart" television

I've had this so-called smart flat panel a year now, after researching a month or so when a slightly smaller Insignia brand died unexpectedly after maybe two years of infrequent usage far short of its listed lifetime hours. And for LCD televisions in this price range I expected at least something from this new unit to have made it worth the purchase.  It has not delivered on the promotional hype of so many supposedly unbiased review sites, in any aspect, let alone even come close to being adequate on just basic features any TV of this size should provide. I was suckered and wasted our money, with the only bonus easing the sting having been able to make five payments - although in retrospect all of the issues probably have something to do with paying in that fashion being allowed in the first place

  * I don't know what genius in the Samsung marketing or executive department forced the engineers to create the hard programming as coded, but in that respect this unit is beyond annoying, bordering into abusing their customers. Need to reinstall an included app; sign up for a Samsung account. Need to do X or Y, sign up for a Samsung account. Only had the unit a year but need to address some kind of computer moment; sign up for a Samsung account, even to the point today of having to go through the AmazonTV

Nothing but the hype, and not even close to the performance of "lesser" brands.

 Nothing fancy, just something to improve the tinny, variable sound. Recommend this tv if sound quality is ok with you. Some people aren’t so picky.

However, because of the presence of this companion chip, i think it is also suffering from some sort of hdmi bandwidth limitation and therefore 4k hundred radius content in hdr actually exhibited more posterization than what was presented on the x900h, not only on test patterns

I have a Series X and mainly play games and use the xbox as my dashboard for twitch, youtube and Netflix. I can get the Sony xh90 for £769 or the Sony X90J for 1,299. 

Is it really worth the £500 difference?. I was considering oled but i play games to much. Samsung QN90A i like the look of but it's alot atm and no Dolby Vision.

The Sony xh90 is 1 year warrenty and TBA X90J 5 year warranty.

Sony 55xh90 or Sony 55X90J?.

 In comparison, my Blu-ray player takes exactly ONE press of a button, but I like to use my Xbox for a superior picture, as well as 4K support (Xbox lacks Bluetooth).  This seems like a software fix needed on Sony's end. I've owned this TV for 2 months, and no such fix has been made. If you go into the settings (such as "Bluetooth"), instead of taking you to the selected setting, it takes you to the home screen instead! This creates a couple of issues

 It takes a total of 18 (yes, EIGHTEEN) button presses on the remote to successfully make a connection, and get me back to the input I was watching. (I'm not even including the button press on my headphones). In comparison, my Blu-ray player takes exactly ONE press of a button, but I like to use my Xbox for a superior picture, as well as 4K support (Xbox lacks Bluetooth).  This seems like a software fix needed on Sony's end

Beautiful picture, functionality is total s#!t

 This was April 28th. In order to "validate" my problem I was sent an email indicating the I need to send pictures of the defect (sound problems--don't know what picture of no sound looks like) and pictures of the model number and serial number (which I already gave them via phone). Once I sent that, they would "validate" my problem within 24 hours and then send me a new replacement TV within 5-7 business days. I chose to work with Amazon (this is the good news)

 I summarized again the symptoms. I asked if I could purchase a new soundbar, have it shipped to Sony and have Sony TV Engineering test with my soundbar to isolate and fix the problem.  Update (5/14/2021) It has been 3 business days (the prescribed amount of time to wait for response). I had not heard back, so I called Sony

 In fact, with the previous (deemed defective model) I had tried with another soundbar and had problem, so I have asked them to re-open case. Not happy..

 Once I sent that, they would "validate" my problem within 24 hours and then send me a new replacement TV within 5-7 business days. I chose to work with Amazon (this is the good news). Amazon took care of the return right away, and I ordered a new set that same day (price had decreased $200 in two weeks since I purchased). My new TV arrived the next day

1 ports, so you can game at 4k at 120 frames per second. In addition, both of these tvs have the next-gen atsc 3.0 tuner. So, as more markets come online, you'll be able to get high quality channels

 And you have a clear winner in a bright room: i'm not sure we can assign an exact dollar amount to the brightness, because it's not really an easy thing to do. But let's go over some of the important information and see if we can get a tv for you when you consider either of these tvs. You have a few factors to think about. The first considerations are typically size and price and those are just numbers

 The x90j is pretty light, which is nice to get it up on the table by myself, but it does have a cheaper build quality. On the other hand, x95j is pretty heavy and the edges have a thicker square. Look it's a bit creaky when picking it up. Both of these tvs have speakers on the side to help direct sound out of the audience, but the x90j has downward firing woofers, while the x95j are still on the back

 Let me know in the comments since the tvs are on, we can start to talk about the differences in the picture, quality and i'll show you a couple tests before rendering some buying advice. First, just a reminder for anyone: who's new to 2021 tvs from sony. The x90j and the x95j both have the xr processor, which not only looks amazing when upscaling, but also is able to push extra brightness to highlights and focus on objects as a human. Would

Sony BRAVIA XR X90J or X95J LED 4K Smart TV - or Neither?

As the title says, I just recently bought a new Sony X90J and as I am not happy with the motion performance while gaming. Panning and moving the camera around causes stutter and blurriness that was not as noticable on my old 2009 LG Tv. Maybe imperfections are now more visible because of the better resolution as this is my first 4K tV.

 I will keep the TV, but would go for cheaper model next time for my particular needs in that specific room. Unless you sit close to the screen, lots of the advantages of this screen quality get lost. Sound wise, it's actually usable after some equalizer adjustments, but here too I'm using HomePods that deliver fuller sound and don't sound like a TV speaker. (the TV allows connections to Amazon and Google wireless speakers as well)

 On the plus side - HomeKit works well once the proper syncing order has been determined. It's a bit of a dance to get the order right of which button to push when. Oh, and if you want to get the free movies that come with the purchase, you have to install Google TV to fully access Bravia Core.

 With size and viewing distance, that price may not make much sense (even at the current discount), and a TV half the price would have probably been just as fine. I shied back from OLED because the viewing distance wouldn't justify the price increase, and the screen reflections in a very bright room, but then this model doesn't seem to hold much advantage in this respect. It's different for really large TVs (65'+) with proper seating distance, where the panel is more important than for my current setup. In retrospect, I bought Sony because of past good experience and was fine paying the higher price for quality control

 I went with Sony because my large TV is an older Sony and has withstood the test of time extremely well. Not so sure about this one. With size and viewing distance, that price may not make much sense (even at the current discount), and a TV half the price would have probably been just as fine.  Sound wise, it's actually usable after some equalizer adjustments, but here too I'm using HomePods that deliver fuller sound and don't sound like a TV speaker. (the TV allows connections to Amazon and Google wireless speakers as well). On the plus side - HomeKit works well once the proper syncing order has been determined.
