 As I say, you can go to this darker kind of hammered heavier area and get quite nice ride patterns with a lot of clarity. The moment you start to come out across the taper to the sort of the middle towards the outside edge and you get that nice kind of wash, then of course, when you crash them, you get this really nice kind of quick explosive dark trashy sound. So very, very dexterous. And I would suggest that if you've got the AAX versions, then definitely check these out because they would sit really, really nicely

 It seems if you remember we interviewed Jojo a couple of issues back and he talked about the development of these symbols and he did say that it took kind of a little while for him to kind of get the symbols to where he wanted them to be and I have to say already just the few minutes that we've had just sort of checking them out they are very very complex symbol so I'm not surprised it took them a little while to figure out.  Well, it's always a pleasure to sit behind something that Jojo Myers had a hand in designing

 and coming up with and we have before us two new HHX series Omni Symbols. Now for those

 of you in the know and those smart fellows out there, you'll know that Sabian and Jojo

 released probably some two or three years ago now the AAX Omni Symbols which came in

 18 and 22 inch diameters. Well now we have something a little bigger and a little darker

 in the form of the HHX Omni and we have a 19 this time instead of an 18 but we also

 have another 22 and frankly 22 is probably big enough for most symbol bags. The idea

 behind these was that Jojo wanted something a little darker, something a little more kind

 of trashy sounding than the Sonics that were available from the AAX series. It seems if

 you remember we interviewed Jojo a couple of issues back and he talked about the development

 of these symbols and he did say that it took kind of a little while for him to kind of

 What a great set of four cymbals they would make like that. Equally, if you don't have to have the

 AAX, but you're looking for something dark trashy, that's multi-tasking, multi-purpose,

 then definitely the HHX on these cymbals from Sabian should certainly be on your shopping list,

 I would hazard a guess. Just before I do forget, over here on my left, the hi-hats are actually

 a pair of 14-inch fierce hi-hats, which were also designed by Sabian and Jojo. So there we are,

 this quite a little kind of Jojo Meyer-esque thing going on here. But more importantly,

 please, please, I beg you, check out the wonderful videos that are on the Sabian website of Mark
