The Superstar Hyperdrive is a great kit but not for that price!. I got mine with upgraded cymbal stands, snare stand, Zildjian ZBT cymbals, Zildjian china, Sabian B8 splash, Iron cobra 200 kick pedal & hi hat stand for $1000 CAD!. I sold the cymbals, pedal and hi hat stand and made almost half the money back right there. Keep looking, you’ll find something better for a cheaper price!.

Cymbals from the ZBT line are honestly just not that great. After trying and returning a lot of different sets from sabian and zildjian, I finally found the perfect balance between quality and price, which is zildjian's ZHT line. It IS discontinued, but you can still find some for a decent price.

I take it your brother requires everything, so drums, cymbals and hardware too? Or are you just looking for a drum shell pack around this money?. If you need everything, personally I'd look at something like a used but good condition Pearl Export or Mapex M Birch, plus a used hardware pack and set of cymbals like Zildjian ZBT's. You might want to factor in a set of new drum heads if buying used but there are some deals to be had there.

Different cymbals and manufacturing techniques produce different tones. As a drummer of over 30 years and loyal Zildjian player, I have used and do use custom A's and K's. I needed a ride with low wash and a lot of stick definition, and this one does it really well, plus the price doesn't hurt eithe...

What to buy as first set?

For cymbals, many beginners will buy a pack of Zildjian ZBT. Personally I would avoid them, in my opinion they sound very cheap and aggressive to the ear, they might frustrate you while playing in the long run. I believe for the same price range you could get some Dream cymbals which sound a bit more juicy?

ITS a good cymbal but wasn't paying much attention that it was more of a beginner's cymbal.But in all still can put it to use.I RECCEMOND the seller.Came with great protection in package.
