 Hey everyone, Graham here from TheRecordingRevolution.com, got a microphone review for you today.

 I have had this microphone for over eight years.

 I've reviewed a few other microphones and I wrote a post on microphones last week and

 I was thinking about the Rode and I was like, I have never even talked about it on the blog

 So here it is, my review of the Rode NT1A, short story, this is like the standard microphone

 It sounds like what you put in front of it and isn't that what you want a microphone

 You want it to be able to be a representation of what you hear in the room and translate

 It sounds clear, it sounds upfront, it sounds natural and then it allows me to use mic placement

 But what you put in front of it sounds like what it should sound like.

 Some people say it's a little harsh, a little high frequency boost.

 If that's in there, which many lower cost microphones have a little bit of a present

 boost, this one sounds the most natural to me.

 It's just like a premium sounding microphone.

 So if you have followed my site, our worship band at church, Elathea, Tampa, all of those

 records I'm using the Rode all over the place for our own band.

 So if you listen to any of those on iTunes, Elathea, Tampa, it's all the vocals are the

 All the acoustic guitars are the Rode NT1A.

 When I have clients come over or if I travel and record, this is always there because this

 sounds good on like 90% of the people's vocals.

 It's very rare that I need something else.

 Now there is nothing else to this microphone.

 There is no high pass filter or bass roll off.

 It's just one cardioid, large diaphragm condenser microphone.

 If you don't get a lot of bells and whistles like you would with a maybe more expensive

 They actually make their own microphones in house, which is pretty rare these days, especially

 for anything under the $1,000 mic range.

 It's made where the company lives in Australia, in their own factories with their own equipment.

 You can go see a bunch of videos on their website about the process if you're interested

 It feels like you're holding a very expensive microphone.

 I've used some very expensive microphones in the days when I was working in studios

 For a lightweight, affordable microphone, it feels solid.

 Now I have a lot of affordable microphones because I don't really like justifying or

 can't justify paying a lot of money for microphones that sound just like these in my mind.

 This for around $200 US, depending on if you get it with a shock mount bundle, it's a little

 bit more than the $100 mic, but not much.

 It is one of those mics you just got to have in your studio eventually.

 In fact, I'm probably going to get some more for when I do bigger band recordings.

 This is to me the flat, normal, neutral sound of real life and I want more of these.

 The NT1A, they just refreshed it to a new version.

 The NT1A was the anniversary edition about 10 years ago now, maybe longer.

 It's all in black now, so if you see them currently after this video comes out, they're
