NT1a is super bright and brittle to my ears. I’ve never been a fan. NT1 is supposed to be super flat but I’ve never used one.

Listen to recordings of each of them and use your ears to decide which you like better.

This is a great microphone. The only exception is the windscreen. The connection is not flexible and since the stand is over to one side, the windscreen is not effective. I was able to use a previous windscreen over the mic and it works great. I would say exceptional.
