 I just never have put it on because I use this tent so much that I've just used those snap buckles along the sides Now compared to all of the other rooftop tents on the market. This rooftop tent has the best Road cover now you're gonna see some that are hard shell rooftop tents and then this fold out traditional if you will this whole rooftop tent thing is still relatively new, but I call them the traditional style of rooftop tents with the soft cover that goes over the top and it folds out this style Definitely the Rome has the best road cover because it's got that zipper that goes all the way around to keep it nice and dry in Bad conditions and also to keep you know moisture out of there There are a lot of bugs Also those snap buckles that don't go over the top. They're just along the sides keep the shape of The the road cover so it doesn't balloon up as you're going down the freeway Which almost every other this style rooftop tent does and that's a huge gripe of mine when you see that forerunner Passing you and it just looks like it's got this big balloon on top of it It's kind of funny, but the Rome has done a really good job at mitigating that by those snap buckles That go all the way around another really cool thing that i'll show you on the other side Is the fact that there is a little track on the side where this road cover actually slips into And that being said you can just toss the road cover over to this side And if you need what's on your bed rack or whatnot You can just roll this guy up And then you can tuck it away with these straps right here And then it just kind of sits right there. I've got my gas roto packs on this side So I really never need them

 And that orange little pocket you see up there, those are actually air vents, so just to help with ventilation of the tent. Down below the mattress, which is included, is a three inch high density foam mattress. So really thick and actually pretty comfy mattress, that is included. And below that red material is the anti-condensation mat

 Some boot bags are included with this rooftop tent, two are in fact. You've also got the gear hammock here, which is a great use of this space below the overhang portion, store things that you might need to get to quickly, sweaters or what have you. Here around the ladder is what Roam calls their porch, it has a nice little window on the front, right now it's fully closed, fully closed. There's also mosquito netting if you want to have it open

 Here we've got one of the windows and the window awnings supported with these rods. That's really easy to do. All you do is simply insert here and then flex the rod back and insert it into the grommets. So two per window, got a couple over here on the rain fly, and here you can get a really good look at this mosquito netting

 What you do is the last person out, just quickly attach those as you fold up the ladder, it kind of helps draw in that material. This orange and green sack here is for your window support rods, ground stakes, guy ropes, that's to secure the porch overhang. You want to make sure you do that when you're set up. And of course some tools are provided for assembly and installation of the rooftop tent

The other thing that I think is probably noteworthy or mention worthy as far as this tent is concerned, it doesn't creak. It doesn't squeak

 We've got space for all their stuffies, blankets, you name it. One of the other main reasons we ended up going with the Roof Nest Condor XL, not only the space, the amount of time it takes to set this thing up is literally minutes. When you're traveling 20 hours across the country with a bunch of kids and a wife that hasn't eaten in a while, you want to get there and set this thing up quickly so we can get to camping. When we pull into camp, literally the girls get out, run off, do whatever they need to do

 When researching rooftop tents, I really wanted something that was going to be local, and I wanted something that was going to hold up in pretty much any kind of weather condition. If you guys know much about me and my background, I kind of, I'm everywhere. It could be in freezing cold temperatures, it could be in 90 degree weather. Something that was going to work in all conditions was very important

 When you're traveling 20 hours across the country with a bunch of kids and a wife that hasn't eaten in a while, you want to get there and set this thing up quickly so we can get to camping. When we pull into camp, literally the girls get out, run off, do whatever they need to do. I can set this thing up in five minutes and have it ready.  So after comparing different models, different options, features that it came with, this is the one we went with and here's why. Take a look. Now one of the first things that really attracted us to the Roof Nest Condor Excel is the short amount of time that it takes to set up the tent. For us it's just under three minutes to set up the tent to where we can crawl in and get to sleep

 Which means we might have a little bit longer distance to walk from one side to the other and we might have a little bit more climbing to do compared to most vehicles.  This big guy is our Condor XL. Unlike our pop-up and clamshell styles, the Condor series folds out, providing generous amounts of interior space relative to its compact size when closed.  Make sure all of the lower rungs are fully extended and locked, and that the ladder rests at a comfortable angle on sturdy ground.  Buckle that down, and then there's this bungee strap that tucks everything in as you close it up, which is good, helps a little bit, not tremendously, but any help you can get up here is welcomed. All right, now you just basically give this a yank, pull it down. This takes a few tries. Basically, I just try to get all the air out of the bedding and whatnot up there the first time, and just kind of pull on it

 All right, pretty good. Now tuck these sides in, like so, pull that a little more and get down some more, and then this side, same deal, tuck that in. Pretty good. Now I fold this strap up and tuck it inside with my rope, tuck that in there, and everything's in, now you kind of crank it down

 And be carefully, I feel like this is where things could go wrong, be carefully bend that up like so, and stick it in this metal grommet that they have on the inside of each corner of this awning. But once you get this done, it's really nice to have this awning if it's inclement weather or just to have some shade when you're getting out on the ladder. This is how we set it up. You know, there's never enough space, but we make it work, and yes, there's four of us sleeping here, me, Marla, Colin, and Caden, and yeah, it's been great

 We had no clue what he was talking about, I was like, what is he talking about with the metal bars? I guess we were talking about being windy down on the beach in the Lost Coast and he was adamant about telling you guys about these, but here they are. So they just snap on these struts like so, and that keeps the plastic from collapsing down on you in a big windstorm. We haven't had to use them really. We put them up on the Lost Coast, but we definitely did not need them
