Private Internet Access here. NordVPN isn't too bad either when it comes to speeds. I've used both here for years, and no, they aren't free.

So I just switched from private Internet access, due to them having a legalese beating around the bush no logging policy and no audit since being purchased by its new owner.   

I have no complaints towards any of the servers or reliability of them since the switch, however I do have to say in comparison that the UI is complete and utter garbage in comparison. The application lacks usage statistics/current speeds for easy access, which is my biggest complaint, however it does also lack the ability to Shadowsocks and just isn’t as user-friendly as private Internet access. But at the end of the day I would rather go with the company who I don’t feel will stab me in the back or hasn’t been delivered the fisa warrant. Overall the UI is less user-friendly and Uglier thus im whining

I’m a longtime lurker and well, this is obviously a throwaway account, because I really don’t want to connect myself to my real identity after being stalked recently and all sorts of bad stuff. But basically, I am really tired of dealing with these websites that take all this personal information and store it and sometimes index it without your consent. I try to opt out of these sites collecting information as often as I can but I still feel uncomfortable. 

Another thing: Before the pandemic I traveled back and forth from the US to Europe because I had family and business contacts and such. Well, I really didn’t realize how often sites, regular normal sites, are blocked because of location. A few times I couldn’t even watch my own Netflix account even though I pay for it, because I was using it from a banned location. 

Anyway TLDR: I want a VPN recommendation that’s good for keeping things anonymous and also one that can bypass geo blocking and that sort of thing. 

I guess it’s obvious to say I don’t want to pay for it -  I’m looking for free or maybe low cost. Not doing anything illegal, so extra security and protection is unnecessary. But I do want a reliable service and I’ve read some things about Cyberghost, Nord, Proton, Tunnelbear, etc. But I really wanted to get some opinions from people who have used it or didn’t like it at all.
