NordVPN

NordVPN is fraudulent when it comes to their customer's money. I highly recommend people avoid supporting a company with such abysmal practices and to go with a better VPN instead of a VPN that "just popular".

Due to scummy behaviour and trying to sidestep affiliate marketing controls, the provider NordVPN cannot be recommended and is now banned. Attempts to circumvent this will get you perma-banned.

I understand the security reasons behind this, but it gets really annoying after a while. In all I think NordVPN could be an awesome service, but because of the fact I need to babysit it so much, it just gets seriously annoying after a while. I need something that I can leave working in the background, and trust it's going to work, and not bother me. I'll definitely not be renewing, so now it's time to go look for some alternatives.

edit: I went for nordvpn trial and I'm really happy with what I got! The speed almost maxes out my normal internet speed and you don't really notice the vpn is there which is exactly what I wanted.

This thing is huge, can finally use NordVPN effectivly. Had to activate & deactivate the VPN all the time when I wanted to play online games or use Netflix. Nice Job NordVPN!

In my opinion NordVPN's approach is much safer as it prevents the accidental "I disconnected and forgot to reconnect before launching a website and outing my IP scenario". Does anyone feel the same? Also for the proton folks here is there any plan to implement a full lockdown mode like Nords?.

The good:. NordVPN have all the hallmarks of a good VPN company.

I have to change servers 3\~4 times to get it back, which most likely results in me just shutting of the vpn... Even my google searches are f\*cked up sometimes. For some reason when connected to a server in my country, google thinks I'm in a neighboring country and thus gives me search results from that country. Lately NordVPN often fails to automatically connect at start up.

NordVPN is NOT that solution unless you like to roleplay as a network administrator every waking hour of your life. I can understand getting my network speeds crippled by using a VPN (~500mbps down to ~200 mbps NordLynx) but when you can't even run a google search without endless captchas, play a Netflix video without it needing to load for 20 seconds, or get constantly blocked by any website using cloudflare it makes the entire experience pointless.

I don't actually think nordvpn is any good for privacy, you're better off with protonvpn or mullvad. Proton works like a charm for me
