Pelikan Twist vs Pilot Kakuno

At a slightly higher price the Faber-Castell Grip is great, and again slightly higher than this Lamy Safari and, for the same price, a Kaweco Sport is a very classy pen (for me at least) that is perfect to carry around in a bag and doesn't look the price.

For me, though, a daily pen needs to be durable but cheap, because I spend a lot of time around machines, taking notes on them. For me, Lamy Safaris or the Pilot Kakuno are my daily drivers. Reliable, cheap, durable, and work well with Noodler's bulletproof inks (so if a random machine blows a hose, or I spill my morning coffee, my notes don't get ruined).

Pelikan, you can do better than this! Returning it is such not an option and requires me to drive a long way that cost me more in gas than the pen is worth. Now I'm stuck with a cracked looking subpar product.

Pilot Metropolitan (finer nib point options with a sturdy body, nibs can easily be swapped out next time just buying the cheap plumix instead).

For $17 i thought it would’ve been made of aluminum instead of a very cheap plastic. i bought a fountain pen for $15 that is made of ceramic. So Pelikan for this one are clearly not up to their name and its well overpriced

For some reason, fountain pens are really expensive. This one, for beginners, was fairly priced. So, I figured that I could try out a fountain pen without spending alot. The pen is fairly nice, and was easy to install the ink cartridge, even if the instuctions are in Japanese

However the pen barrel is a bit too chunky for my liking... It is far chunkier than Lamy's Safari, hence the 3 stars

I really like this pen for it's lightweight functionality. It really works very simply and without problems.
