 It's actually very nice. New E Ink Kaleido screen so it looks like they did do a little bit of a boost and a difference between the first gen and the second gen. However you will have to wait for the full review video to see what this all has going for it. For now this is everything that comes in the box with the brand new ink pad color using the same ink pad shell as the last generation with an all new generation color screen

Pocketbook Inkpad Color 7.8" Kaleido 2 e-Ink Unboxing

 E Ink Kaleido 2 finally came out with the 10.3 inch big me.

 One week late to the party is this, the ink pad color.

 Here it finally is in its larger than 6 inch form.

 This is a 7.8 inch E Ink device and it is running Kaleido 2 which is color.

 It's much like the pocket book color that came out last year, except this one is larger

 than 6 inches and this is the first time that a device is using color that is larger than

 The big me is great but it's just a little locked down.

 We're going to open this up with you guys on camera.

 This is a brand new sample from pocketbook.

 We're always really excited when we get pocketbook stuff because they have so many languages

 under their belt that it's just, it's so internationally friendly.

 You don't have to worry about using mainland Chinese phone numbers to register the device

 It's just pick up and go, choose your language and that's it.

 So opening this up, it is very similar to all other pocketbook layouts when you buy

 So we're just going to leave the device off to the side for now.

 Now this is and should be using the same ink pad shell, but we'll check that in a second.

 So you do get that dongle they always give you.

 This one is the USB-C version that goes into 3.5 mil headphone jack for audio purposes

 and you have the USB-C right there as well.

 You just have that for dry purposes so it doesn't get too moist inside the box.

 You have your warranty, your hello guide and we'll tell you what that is in a second and

 So this is your life with a case and without a case.

 They've been including this with the past couple of generations and they're just recommending

 you put a case on it in case you drop it or anything like that.

 Now for the device itself, this should be using the same shell and it looks like it

 is with its very nice and non cookie cutter design.

 The thing about pocketbook devices is that they've always been very nice looking.

 They don't look like they've just been stamped out.

 They use multiple bezels, physical buttons and they're still very modern.

 So it's a mix of not being too simplistic but not overdoing the old school buttons and

 It's just an overall great mix and you can see right there it is a color screen and it

 See the color right there and of course we will do a first time boot up because well

 Well you look at that, what a colorful homepage right out of the gates.

 We didn't even download anything, it's just the preloaded stuff and of course the color

 I've never even used this myself so loading it up will just, this will be the last thing

 we'll touch on before we wrap as it is in unboxing but look at that.

 That looks great and you know what, it is far less blue than the first generation.

 That was the inherent problem with the first generation of color that the background was

 very gray and it was overall blue hue but you can see it is very much white.

  Overall, I find it perfect for my reading needs. I sometimes wonder if I should've bought the Boox NOVA 3 Color instead because that is octa core while this one is dual core, but then, that does not have a slot for an external memory card, the price is a lot steeper and it did not seems 4 times faster in the comparison videos on YouTube. Well, maybe after they come up with a reader that do accept a memory card, I'll give it a try, until then, this one is perfect.
