Omega VSJ843 vs OXO Good Grips 2-in-1 Juicer

I have an Omega VSJ843 and I love it. It’s so easy to clean and you don’t have to chop food up too small. It’s also very efficient and has been shown to extract more juice than others in some side by side comparisons.

The strainer became a bit clogged after juicing 6 lemons and required me to clear it out.

Being an engineer by training, I did extensive research on which juicer to buy. I'd like to share why I chose this one, and it's pros and cons -- so that I can hopefully save some of you some time. My two biggest criteria for selection were: #1- The juicer had to extract the MAXIMUM JUICE from the food, and #2 - The juice had to be EASY TO CLEAN. I figured that if the juicer was not easy to clean, I would not use it

On the positive side, this juicer does a great job for juicing citrus fruits of a wide range of sizes. I was impressed with the 3 piece design that handles that wide range, so I bought it. However, I've found that in practice that I prefer another style of citrus juicer, which squeezes a half a fruit at a time, rather than boring into the fruit while squeezing it, like this one does. I like to be time efficient, and this model takes a lot more time because I have to chase down and clean up all the pulp afterwards, which tends to get spread out everywhere during the juicing

The result is a better juice than I got with the centrifuge type. More juice and less wet pulp. So far so good. I will update in a month or so to see if I am still as happy maybe put another star or take a star away

I've been using a hand juicer for lemons and limes for the past few years and I never feel like I get all the juice out. This guy is a big improvement. While the plastic container is a little large and thus all together takes up a bit more room in my kitchen, it does the job much better and I can actually tell how much juice I get with the measure on the side. Ultimately I get so much more juice out of my lemons and limes by using this juicer over the hand held one, and the seeds can't accidentally slip through
