The voice of the Dark Star. The Dark Star is what would be used to create long reverberated pads. The noises underneath the lead. The mood setter. That's the Dark Star. The way a song feels. That's because of the Dark Star. At its heart, the Dark Star is a Reverb. Then the Reverb signal passes through three possible modes: Pitch, Delay and Crush. CTRL 1 and CTRL 2 correspond with the selected mode. In Pitch, you've got two independent pitch controls for + and - an octave. In Delay, you've got the Delay Time and Delay Feedback. In Crush, you've got a pitch control for +/- an octave and then a control for Bit Crush. The Mix and Reverb knobs control the mix of dry/wet signal and the decay of the reverb, respectively. The Dark Star has two footswitches. The Bypass switch is your standard on/off True Bypass switch. The Hold switch is a momentary footswitch that when pressed, will lock in whatever note is being played through the reverb effect. This will sustain as long as the Hold switch is pressed. If the Mix control is set less than 100% wet, you can continue to play over the sustaining reverb signal. The Dark Star now features an expression out jack and clickless switching. The output level can be tweaked via an internal trimpot for boost, slight drop, or unity gain. The Bit Crush mode is the most amazing reverb sound I have ever heard

 It is very ambient and spacey, which is exactly why I wanted it. I give it three stars because the input / output connections seemed loose and they don't hold the chord very snug. Sometimes, this can causes noise. But to be honest, that's also the point of the pedal, it's a little bit noisy and ambient, so it's still pretty cool

So, I've got the pedal set up with, basically, we're going to start with a dark reverb, and I want to just demonstrate the secondary function real fast and just general navigation before we get stuck into just playing, so you get the idea. So, again, guitar without, and let's put it in

Of course, with Walrus pedals they look fantastic as well, which is a small benefit, but it's an awesome one at that.  Alright guys, how you doing? It's Rabir, I hope you're all good. So, I've got a brand

 new pedal demo to show you today, this time in association with the dudes at Walrus Audio.

 They've brought out this really cool reverb pedal. It's a multi-textural reverb pedal

 with some really cool options and it's called the Slow Reverb. Now, I don't know if I'm

 saying that right because there is an umlaut above the O, but for the sake of safety in

 pronunciation I'm going to call it the Slow Reverb. Ok, so we've got three reverb types.

 We've got Dark, which is an octave below reverb, and then we've got Rise, which is like a volume

 ramp reverb, and then we've got Dream, which is like a vibrato modulated reverb. There's

 some extra features, the secondary functions, we'll get into all of that and I'm really

 excited to try it out. Ok, so looking at the close-up cam you can see it's a pretty straight

 forward pedal in there, sort of small footprint. From the top left to the top right we've got

 Decay, Filter and Mix. So Decay is how long a reverb is going to dissipate for. Filter

 is like a low pass, so all the way down is going to be no high end and all the way up

 is going to be all the high end in the reverb trail. And then Mix is obviously the dry wet

 blend and as you can see there's like a little line in the top right, say maybe two o'clock,

 and that means perfect balance between dry and wet. And then we've got X, which is modulation,

 and then depth, which is obviously the depth of the reverb, and it changes depending on

 what you're on. And then you've got the toggle switch in the middle, it's a three-way toggle

 switch. So on the left hand side of the toggle switch you've got your type of reverb, so

 the dark, the rise and the dream. On the right you can see it says sine, warp and sync, which

 is the type of wave selection for the modulation. So sine wave, like a warp and a sync, so it

 just changes the kind of modulation effect. Your foot switches are obviously bypass and

 then you've got sustain, which is a really cool feature, because if you hold down sustain

 it gives you like a pad that you can play over the top of, but if you're in the dream

 setting it becomes latching, so you can create an infinite pad that you can play over the

 top of, which is very cool. In terms of the secondary functions of the pedal, you've got

 trails mode, which basically turns on and off the trail, when you turn the pedal off

 you'll hear it dissipate, or you can turn that off if you want, you simply just have

 to hold down the engage button, add power to the pedal, and that will toggle between

 the two. And then the secondary function in terms of selecting the different wave shape,

 you just hold down that bypass switch, and then you move the toggle switch between obviously

 sine, warp and sync, and then the depth knob changes the rate of that modulation. So it's

 a really easy pedal to use, and it's just pretty flexible, so you can do loads of cool
