Nikon Coolpix W300 vs Ricoh WG-70

Other people on this post are recommending you get a full frame, interchangeable lens camera. I recommend against that because if it's your first camera, you'll want something like the the Nikon Coolpix, Sony Cybershot, or Canon Powershot that will give you a good introduction into photography because they all have multiple features built directly into the camera. A decent point and shoot such as the ones I listed above are a good way to learn what kind of photography you enjoy doing.

Three and the best feature, I can hand this to my 3.5 year old son and let his him poop and shoot all day long. In the water, covered in sand, on the rocks, in the boat and sharing with his friends all under 6 years old. It is way better then then those kids cameras because it helps them be present and not play stupid games as they have on the kids cameras

As an added bonus on a smart devise all you need to do is tap for a proper focus and exposure point. The near $400 expense just isn't worth it for me. I already have a waterproof phone and if I need to dive deeper than a pool (which I do on occasion) a GoPro is significantly cheaper with significantly better image quality. You would think that a camera company, producing a consumer grade camera would outperform a camera phone

The other 10% of the pictures were inside taking pictures of campers receiving awards from staff. The inside picture quality could have been better, tried several setting but none did as well as I hoped.

But the water won't come out. I don't understand how it got in! And I really can't get it out. If it's hot out then the water turns to steam and fogs up the whole lens. I really am mad

I’m not sure what you want to shoot with it, but as far as telephoto is concerned I would put the RF 70-200 below my Sigma 150-600 contemporary. Much more reach and also very good IQ. The RP has 26mp which is fine don’t get me wrong, but if you plan on using a 70-200 and cropping you might run into some problems especially if you’re concerned with sharpness.

The image and video stabilization is significantly better. They also fixed a lot of white balance and dynamic range issues. The old AW series used to take a lot of work with exposure compensation and metering to get images that weren't over or under exposed.

This is where the Zoom features and the Image Stabilization came in handy. We were able to take pictures that we might not have been able to take otherwise. Would definitely recommend.

It handled all this easily. The battery only lasted about 3 days: 200 photos and 15 1-4 minute videos. Then of course the battery pack I brought to recharge it did not put out enough wattage to recharge it. Not very user friendly, especially the feature that allows wireless transfer of photos and videos to your phone

It could be that it needs a new battery (although such a battery should have a much longer shelf life). It is now August and my product support eligibility ended in June. It happens to be a Saturday, so there’s no one available via phone. So, I suppose this will just be a rather expensive paperweight

So far, very impressed. Zoom in to see the bald eagle near the top of the tree at the point. That was a long ways away.

Great zoom compared to the older waterproof cameras. Takes great pictures underwater when I'm kayaking. My only complaint is that the sunset pictures aren't as good as the Fuji, which had a sunset mode. Otherwise this is my favorite camera (and I also have 2 GoPro knockoffs)
