 It'S not making me slap. The ground in any way, but it is kind of making itself known that might kind of mellow out a little bit over the miles as like these flex, grooves start to break in, but for today it was kind of like a almost like a nice kind of Like not a guide rail but like a nice kind of little hint of stability in the forefoot that i thought was nice, because normally my foot kind of like lands a little bit on the side and kind of rolls in a little bit. This was kind of encouraging me to land a little bit more squarely on the foot which normally i don't like that feel. I usually feel like the shoe is fighting me when i get that sensation from a shoe, but here it was it wasn't too bad

 This was definitely a pleasure to run in today when i'm thinking about, like a long run shoe if i'm not reaching for a max cushion shoe. This is the kind of feel that i'm going to be reaching for and that i'm going to be looking for something. That'S also gon na get out of my way and just let me run and feel like i'm running the miles, if that it's not running them for me or that i'm not feeling like a bounce or a spring or a squish or any other kind of adjective There it just kind of really gets out of my way and lets me put in the miles and there's not a lot of shoes that are leaving me with that. So, in the sense it's almost a little bit of like a retro or a throwback shoe just feels like a great running shoe to run in

 Forefoot area of this shoe is a is very stiff and has actually given me a little bit of stability in terms of like this kind of like torsional rotation as i'm hitting the ground. So i'm definitely feeling that it's not biting me. It'S not making me slap.  Now this is a shoe. That'S not going to be coming out until a march of 2021, and so i normally wait till she's released before i review them, but this one i did get early, but that also means that i don't always get all like the stats and other information that i Normally like to report, so i'm not exactly sure what the stack heights are on this shoe. I think it's somewhere in the 30 millimeter range in the heel back here and that feels like a 10 millimeter drop. I think it's a 10 millimeter drop

New Balance 880v11 - First Run

 You know it's somebody who needs a neutral shoe is somebody who, when they're looking at a tread pattern on their shoe on a shoe without any guidance built into it, we're looking to see more wear pattern down the middle, or maybe some on the outside of the Shoe if you find that you're wearing your shoes - and you have a lot of a lot of wear pattern on the inside on the medial side, then you might need a shoe that has a little bit extra arch support. So for somebody who's wearing down the inside of their shoe, like that, i might say: hey, then you should you should try the 860., because the 860 has this little piece here. That has a little bit more density and a little bit more structure to it, designed to keep you from rolling too far on the inside

 Everything was right down the middle, because that means no matter what they were doing. We were able to counter it one way or the other and try to keep all your momentum in the middle and we've always found. If we can kind of keep you stable from the ground up then stuff, like your knees and your hips and everything kind of falls in line when you come in and all your wear is one way or the other, then maybe we need to do some sort Of adjustment on it, so this shoe is great for somebody who lose my shoes here, somebody who who wears takes a neutral shoe and they continue to wear more neutral or on the lateral side. But this shoe now the way i can feel that lateral support

 It'S the fresh foam because they're really trying to hit that home.. Hence it's softer. It'S a little bit more squishy compared to what we've seen before

New Balance Fresh Foam 880 v11 | 2021

Hello everybody, my name is Steve Moore. I'm 
the owner of Run Moore, this brick-and-mortar  

running shop located in Westminster, Maryland. 
Today, we're going to be talking about the new  

New Balance Fresh Foam 880 version 11. Quite a 
mouthful. This comes out in early March of 2021.  

This is the crown jewel and New Balance's 
crown, I guess? This is their workhorse everyday  

neutral shoe. For us, there are really two big New 
Balance shoes that we carry; obviously, we carry  

a couple of others that are sprinkled into our 
lineup, but like the two big ones that every run  

specialty shop has is the 880 and its companion 
shoe, the 860. This is a mid cushion neutral shoe.  

I call this a shoe that's good from a mile to a 
marathon. This is really a workhorse shoe that,  

while there's the stuff that's cushier 
and stuff that's less cushiony, you can  

do a bit of everything in this. Today, we're 
going to talk about some of the changes that  

have come down the line from this shoe. Over the 
years, this shoe used to be a much to me firmer  

stiffer shoe it was interesting because 
you had this stability version of this shoe  

and the neutral version of this shoe, and they 
both kind of spelled a little bit similar to me  

the arch profile was firmer in the 860 the stable 
version than this but still putting it on it  

had a bit of like a clunk feel to it. You could 
almost kind of hear people when they were walking  

around the shoe because it just felt so stiff and 
firm. Not a bad thing, that was just their thing,  

and you know we talk about a lot when people come 
in here, especially if they're new to the whole  

fitting process and try out new running shoes 
is I might pull a bunch of different stuff if I  

determine that they're like a neutral runner or 
you know the type of stuff that they're looking  

at. I might say, hey, let's try a couple of 
different things and see what works for you,  

and that's what happens a lot of times as you sort 
of put a shoe on. You go yeah, that's sort of the  

style that I like, that sort of fit for my foot, 
so we always found that like the New Balance v 880  

for something that neutral category somebody that 
didn't have a lot of overpronation it was like  

the firmest of that category. Some people like a 
mattress that's a really soft squishy mattress,  

and maybe you want to put them in like you know 
one of those big boys on the wall over there. Then  

we might find somebody who wants like a little bit 
firmer shoe, something they can put on their foot  

and feel like there's something there under their 
foot they can feel nice and sturdy in that shoe  

without having too much arch profile 
as we would expect in a neutral shoe.  

Over the last two years, they've made a change 
and made this shoe considerably softer than  

the previous versions. It makes sense. You know 
it's a nice distinction between the two shoes;  

you have somebody who wants a softer, neutral 
shoe. Great if you need somebody who needs a  

little bit more arch support, something slightly 
more stable, great you have the companion 860. 

Now, there's a nice differential between the 
two, so I pulled out one of the old guys,  

so this is version nine. It almost looks like it's 
clunkier. I don't know what it is, but like now,  

can I hold the shoe up even though we had it 
for so long like it just feels so different  

and antiquated compared to the new ones. Here 
is the stuff that we started seeing last year,  

with version 10 is more of the is the Fresh Foam 
underneath foot you know with the blown foam  

through the forefoot and you can feel that it's a 
little bit softer and squishy you can really just
