Very comfortable running shoe for both short and long distances

The shoes basically sold themselves, because I bought the NB Rebel V2 just a couple of days later. I ha...

TRY THE SHOES ON!
This 100%. But I also recommend the Saucony Endorphin Speeds and New Balance Rebel v2. I haven’t ran in either, but what the hell.

There a bunch of upcoming shoes that will fit well in this spot that have been getting positive reviews as well. These are the Hoka Mach 4, New Balance Fuelcell Rebel 2, Saucony Freedom 4, Puma Liberate Nitro, and Skechers Razor Excess.
Wear Test & Review: The New Balance Fuelcell Rebel V2 | Brooklyn Running Company
The Rebel V2s perform really well on terrain such as this (think also the Williamsburg Bridge or the hyped Brooklyn Mile stretch along Kent Avenue) where you can run continuously without too much interruption. Whereas taking these through the streets and blocks of New York City may be somewhat less than ideal as it won’t allow you to truly unlock the full speed potential because you’ll be more stop and go. But to the contrary, they’ll come in handy when you need to dodge a less than focused CitiBike rider! I’m typically a loyal Hoka fanatic, so I was skeptical about these shoes upfront

One trick pony shoes -- Not versatile
Pros: Upper is very nice and breathable Toebox is wide Colors are awesome Cons - Unstable. Feel like I'm going to roll my ankle at any moment - NOT good for walking / casual wear - They are made for running fast only - Slow running is awkward. Feels like walking in sand at the beach

New Balance Fuel Cell rebel v2 - 6mm claimed, 8.9mm measured. Asics Novablast 2 - 8mm claimed, 13.7mm (!!!) measured. So the pegasus, a nominally 10mm drop shoe, is actually the lowest drop out of all those shoes, which is not intuitive at all.
