Netgear Nighthawk R7000 vs TP-Link EAP235-Wall

Pay CLOSE attention to this unit, how it works, and what it does before you buy it!! 1) Omada interface / controller - as normal, great concept but total trash to implement. I de-registered the software, wiped the initial setup and started over rather than trying to mess with it (its only good for multipoint administration from a central location IMHO) - IE: I did the stand alone fallback mode through a web interface and fixed the problem (much simpler setup) 2) NOT a true "wireless mesh" unit. Only some (mostly omada) wireless networks will work with this thing. My "netgear" router and this unit would not work together for a wireless AP setup

Wi-Fi routers can be difficult to decide on the model, the amount of money that you want to spend on it, and aside from that, the amount of setup time...

Whether it's higher power, the multiple external antennas, or the beam-forming technology all I know is the range on this router is fantastic. It not only covers our entire house, I can sit in the car in the driveway and use it, I can use it when checking the mail (granted that's not terribly practical) and I can even sit at the park next door as my daughter plays (roughly 100 feet from the house) and use our WiFi. The TV in our bedroom which used to have to constantly stop to buffer streamed movies now plays with nary a hiccup, and usually almost instantly. Needless to say that smart devices (like the Nest Protect and Learning Thermostat) never have a problem connecting, even on different floors

2) Range may be an issue. I have about a 320 foot straight shot through a moderately wooded area to hit a wireless camera. Not gonna happen with the stock antennas. Had to purchase "Outdoor 15dBi Dual Band WiFi 2

the router is supposed to be the connection!! (Give me strength). Tired and sore trying to figure this out. I go to remote connect and it prompts me to login through the website.

The ReoLink cameras support 5G and 2.4G WiFi (not simultaneously), but yet again, the signal continues to disappoint. This is still a pretty cool product, and it has applications (especially related to affordable outdoor mesh), but it certainly didn't accomplish what I was hoping it would.
