While we loved the wealth of features, it made assembling the Nakto a little more involved and time-consuming than most. It wasn't difficult by any means, but it took an hour to complete the process. We were also a little underwhelmed by this bike's pedal-assist system. Not only were the display and controls quite basic, but it only has one pedal assist level. It works; it's just a little less sophisticated than some of the other bikes we tested. That said, we still feel this is a quality, comfortable e-bike with a great range and cargo capacity.

 I spent a good month checking out e-bikes in fine detail before going with this one, and i guess, if you kind of want the short version of it, i'm extremely happy with it and i highly recommend it. So why do i say that several reasons actually first thing: i want to talk about and kind of the most important thing on an e-bike is the battery and the motor. Those are the two by far most expensive things to replace if anything goes wrong with them and those two things really determine the functionality, the performance and just the overall, how good the e-bike is.  The only thing you need to put on is the front tire and the handlebars, which is extremely easy to do and will take you probably 15 minutes, tops next thing. The shimano gear system on this bike, or rather the gear system on this bike, is a shimano which is good because shimano make really good gears and hubs and shifters now, it's obviously not their highest end shimano gear set, but it's a pretty dang good one. Nonetheless, and for the purposes of this bike, which is not made for off-road use, it will handle anything you're going to throw at it 100 percent. As far as the brakes go, it does have v brakes on the front and rear you're, not getting um disc brakes with this bike, however, for city riding disc brakes just weigh more they're a more complicated system and they're more expensive to put on the bike

 So you really don't need them to be honest with you, these this bike does stop very quickly and since disc brakes really don't make a big difference unless you were to get hydraulic disc brakes, most bikes that come with disc brakes will have mechanical disc brakes, and It really doesn't stop much quicker mechanical disc brakes versus a standard v brake. It'S only when you get into hydraulic disc brakes that you really notice a difference and there's no way you're going to get a bike at this price with hydraulic disc brakes on it. But, like i said for city riding street riding, this thing stops exceptionally fast. You wouldn't need anything more than it

 First of all, we've got a new motor here on the Radcity 5 Plus, it's a higher torque motor that replaces the previous direct drive motor. It's still 750 watts of peak power, but now it climbs hills up to 40 percent faster. I did some testing on both pedal assist and throttle only, and the Red City Five Plus flew me up steep hills with surprising ease. The only downside to the new motor is that you have to give up the regenerative braking from the previous model

 Next up, we have a brand new battery. Technically, it's the same capacity at 48 volts and 14 amp hours for 672 watt hours, but it's got a whole new design that uses an aluminum shell sitting mostly down inside of the down tube of the frame that hides it away and removes the eyesore of a bolt-on battery. Plus, it gives you back more room in your triangle for adding bags and other accessories. I also like that the key lock remains in the bike frame and not in the battery anymore

The range of the bike varies, of course, but should be somewhere around 25 miles on throttle and 40 miles on pedal assist. depending on how you ride, the bike tops out at 20 miles an hour, which is not particularly fast, but it keeps its street legal at class 2 speeds

RadCity 5 Plus E-Bike REVIEW! Best RadCity Ever!

This post gives me warm feelings about my Radcity 4 that should arrive on Monday. Selling my car and planning to replace it with this bike for groceries and other errands.

 Again, these parts are all fine. They're just on the lower end of the component hierarchy from these suppliers, but what they do is allow Rad to offer a good bike at a good price. In this case, $1,499 which considering that price includes a nearly 700 watt hour battery. That big 750 watt direct drive motor and integrated rear rack fenders included standard LED lights, metal pedals, and more, that's still a pretty good price in my opinion
