I loved my RadCity. Good parts and all the good stuff is built in, lights, rear rack, bell. Mine was recently stolen but I’m a fan and will probably get the rad wagon when I save up enough.

I often find myself taking the power assist down to 1 or 0 when I’m using it because it’s just pleasant to pedal on its own. I always have throttle on demand if I run into a brief hill or whatever, but it’s become something of a game to see just how far I can go on one charge - I don’t have a lot of range anxiety with that bike because it pedals so nimbly. No power? No problem.

Radpowerbikes makes e-bikes, particularly budget-focused e-bikes, and have done for a few years. They don't have the experience, they are cautious about things that push their price up because their customers are more price-sensitive. That isn't to say that they make bad bikes, but if you compare a RadCity to a Turbo Vado or Turbo Como there's a world of difference in fit and finish, as well as expected durability/lifespan. That said, if you're after a cargo bike then Specialized doesn't work for you, they don't make one.

I looked into the Specialized E bikes, but they were all too big for me, as well as all of the other E bikes the shop carries. The RadCity was a decent fit due to the cruiser style handlebars, which shorten the reach for me. (I have longer legs and a shorter torso, so the reach is usually where I have trouble).

This post gives me warm feelings about my Radcity 4 that should arrive on Monday. Selling my car and planning to replace it with this bike for groceries and other errands.

4000 miles in, any issues?

radpower's radcity 5+ has been great to me for pretty much the same use case. i've had it for a few months and have over 500 miles on the odo. i'm an all-weather rider. it's sale price is $1999, so at the top end of your budget.

Ebikes need to have battery removed if you're leaving them outside and are less rain-friendly overall. Great for cargo, definitely better visibility, but there were several reasons I sold my RadCity step thru and replaced it with a Hiboy s2 pro. I always felt like someone would steal the bike, but the scooter?

Everyone I know who has bought the RadCity Step-Thru has absolutely loved it. It's a comfy, tough, easy on the eyes, quick, and easy to maintain bike that won't break the bank compared to some of the more expensive ebikes on the market.
