 I'Ve got two more over here because that's where the bass seems to resonate the most and i'm trying to tackle that problem at the moment. I actually need more of these now direct can't completely correct for that. But the difference that i hear in turning on and off inside the blue os app is significant and i've learned a little bit more about my room, like i've learned that i've got a bit of a peak at about 70 hertz so that either needs tackling passively. With these kinds of products, but not everybody - wants these kinds of products in the lounge room

 I got a little bit tighter base than i'd get from the my tech, brooklyn amp, just a smidge, and i want tight bass in this room because the jbl really pushes the limits of the acoustics of this room come back to that thought later. The second thing i noticed was that this amp really opens up the mid-range in terms of transparency and clarity, and i kind of again one of john's special metaphors. You know when you're looking at a stream in the middle of summer and it's the water is flowing over rocks and stones, and it's crystal clear you can see everything it reminded me of that, not very technical. I know, but that's the kind of the vibe that this amp gives in the mid-range and also the upper mid-range and the treble actually, because it really shows us

 So i had five different curves loaded and they sit inside the m33. You can access them from the blue os app, but more than anything dirac gives us an opportunity to learn about the acoustics of our room, including the many problems i mean in this room. I have a 35 hertz mode, which is a beast and it's very challenging and direct can't get rid of all of it and you might have noticed i've got these two gik bass traps in the corner. Here

 What i'm talking about is go back and check out my video on the blue, sound power, note 2i and on the nad masters m10 super integrated, and if you really want to flesh it out, go and have a look at the dali active speakers video i did As well, because that also talks about the bluesound modules, so these are kind of like prerequisites for this video, because we've got to talk about a lot today and i don't want to retread old ground. I don't want to bore you. I want to get everything done in 20 minutes. It'S a big ask okay

belongs to the nad masters m33 amplifier which is  

behind me here and it's yeah it's a monster but 
the best thing about it is it has a red hot chili  

peppers button right here so i can skip the red 
hot chili peppers when rune radio throws them up  

throws them up yeah that's a good term anyway 
before we get going with this integrated sorry  

super integrated amplifier you need to 
know what a blue sound module is and does  

and what dirac is and does so i would recommend 
if you haven't watched them already or you don't  

know what i'm talking about is go back and check 
out my video on the blue sound power note 2i  

and on the nad masters m10 super integrated

tidal kobas amazon and a bunch of others  

we get streaming from samba shares elsewhere 
on the network we get roon readiness and we  

get spotify connect and we get multi-room as well 
with pretty much all of those things actually yeah  

multi-room and another cool feature of the blue 
os module is two-way bluetooth streaming so not  

only can we take a phone and stream from the phone 
to the amplifier but whatever we're playing on the  

amplifier we can also have it stream bluetooth out 
into a pair of headphones like these bowers and  

wilkins px7 now on the m33 we also get the same 
seven inch touchscreen that we have on the m10  

and i've got to say actually i think from whatever 
the updates bluesound have rolled out in the last  

12 months since i had the m10 it feels the way 
that the screen moves the menus move feels a lot  

snappier there is no hint of any jankiness at all 
so i really like using this screen it moves very  

nicely but also unlike the m10 we have a very 
smooth volume wheel it's actually a kind of a  

strange shape but it feels nice to use so i have 
no complaints there now also unlike the m10 the  

m33 has an inbuilt moving magnet and moving coil 
phono stage i'll put the specs on the screen here

now the thing that you need to know about this 
phono stage is that all of the gain and the ri  

double a equalization is applied in the analog 
domain and then it's digitized as to why we'll  

come back to that later on the front panel we have 
a 6.4 millimeter headphone output which you don't  

get on the m10 now you should know that the output 
impedance of this headphone output is 2.2 ohms  

so that makes it a questionable fit for low 
impedance headphones especially you know  

super sensitive iems and also 
some full size headphones  

so i would stick with 32 ohm and above i did 
try the mass drop 6xx sennheiser headphone  

it was pretty good actually i was quite surprised 
definitely enough gain and power on tap it didn't  

quite give me the sort of bottom end push that 
i get from a dedicated headphone amplifier  

but it's still better than the headphone 
output on the blue sound power note 2i

yes another functional advantage over the m10 
the m33 has balanced analog inputs so i found  

that pretty useful for connecting my cord huey 
phono stage it also has a balanced digital input  

aes ebu i don't use that too much but some people 
do and lastly on the left hand side of the back  

panel you'll see these kind of things are marked 
mdc sockets which nad have specified on their amps  

for years and years and years so this is basically 
for upgrade cards so if if a new technology comes  

along they don't force you to sell this amp buy 
a new one you can just slot in an upgrade card  

into each of the two sockets if you want to 
so there is extensibility for future proofing  

down the line i think that's pretty good one minor 
niggle i have with all of these sort of nad blue  

sound amps is the lack of a usb input now that 
matters to me because i run an intel nook into a  

projector and then the sound into whatever dac or 
amp i'm using at the time now for this because it  

only has coaxial and toslink digital inputs i have 
to use a usb speed of converter to get sound from  

my nook into this amp so when i watch tv on the 
projector everything works smoothly it's just a  

minor niggle it's not going to affect everybody 
but i just thought i would make you aware of it  

okay so opening the m33 up we find the big story 
here which are these two amplifier modules these  

are called eigentact and they're from a company 
called purify in denmark and these are basically  

new class d modules developed by bruno putz's 
and lars rizbo now if you watched my video last  

week about the molar molar dac you'll know that 
bruno also designed or partially designed that  

and he did the key loudspeaker dsp as well the man 
has many talents anyway nad are one of the first  

official licensees of the eigentact amplifier 
modules they give us twice as much as the m10 so
