 They also give you this little tool here which enables you to quickly change out the valve simply by unscrewing it here and then on the bottom. Here you simply just take the fuel cup off, you take the little wick off, and then this part pops out and there's your jet. So you would just change this jet by simply unscrewing it with the tool here and then you could put whatever jet in there that you are going to use depending on the fuel setup that you're going to use. But today we're going to use the white gas

 That's where fuels like white gas in these, where you can pressurize yourself work much better in the cooler temps or at altitude where the pressure is a lot lower. So in the kit here you have a windscreen. This definitely helps out, maintains you know efficiency for your stove and makes it you know, boil your water that much faster. You have the pump system here that goes into the canister and then we have the stove itself

 The system cools down really fast - I'm already able to touch these feet here and it's been two minutes since I turned off the stove so that's cool. Takedown is basically the exact same thing in: Reverse Just pop this little clip off my valve here. Go ahead and just pull my gas right out of the valve here. Now you want to unscrew this slowly? obviously because if it's still pressurized, you don't want to have this thing go crazy on you

 So the like the stove. You just want to turn the canister on a very little bit until you get a very little amount of gas built up in the little cup here and then you can light it. It'll burn off that gas for a while a few minutes and then you can add more fuel into the mix and it will ignite just like a regular. you know, butane stove would now somehow I made it out here today without a lighter

 It says it'll burn 136 minutes on 20 ounces of fuel. So this is a 20 ounce fuel bottle and it is completely full. So theoretically over two hours of on high boiling with this stove. With this amount of fuel it's very reliable

 It's designed to work in any kind of conditions, to be very reliable, and to be very easy to fix. It's very easy to maintain out in the field. It's designed to function flawlessly in almost any conditions. It's very simple to use, and these are all the reasons that not only myself, but many, many other people, thousands and tens of thousands of people have loved this stove over the years

 So about fifty sixty dollars you can get yourself one of these and be up and running very quickly. Let's take it outside. I I am brave with a lot of stoves on starting them indoors, but this particular white gas stove I'm not going to. I just don't like the procedure as far as putting it

 But do I see myself using this stove a lot? Personally? Me: no, I don't see myself using it very much. Bottom line is is that I'm not a mountaineer. I live at sea level or less. In some cases, we walk around below sea level at times

 durable. compact and uses white gas. (I'm not a fan of butane. yet) And I've had a MSR 20 oz fuel bottle for as long as I can remember that filled my lantern and other stove that we're about to talk about

 I should've done more research on the size and weight of this new Whisperlight because my 442 has it beat. The Whisperlight pack size (with the bottle you need to run it) is bigger and when you add a 20oz full bottle it weighs more. And I don't have to assemble my 442 to use it. So I am open to suggestions and reasons why I should like this new MSR Whisperlight over my 442

 packs small. has its own built in tank and NEVER has let me down. I should've done more research on the size and weight of this new Whisperlight because my 442 has it beat. The Whisperlight pack size (with the bottle you need to run it) is bigger and when you add a 20oz full bottle it weighs more

Best price I found was right here (for a place that did more than take your credit card info that is).  They delivered quickly for covid times.

When I like to use gas (white gasoline) I like this stove because it is lightweight and packs small.  Not a lot of complex valves to go wrong with it, either.    All of the real weight is in my fuel bottles but as you camp, you burn the liquid and lighten your load.

Tried, tested and hard to improve upon.

 I appreciate the flame control & it's weather dependecy. With the wind screen in place it will work in about any environment. I'd say it's not the best in any one category - but the best overall. One piece of advice: buy the maintenance kit

 So that's a bonus, and just overall this thing is really really cool, so I'm super psyched about the way that this thing has boiled water, how it performs it burns. Hot you've got good simmer action to it and I literally do not have like negative things to say about it: it it's just a top notch, high quality piece of gear that I've been really really happy with. So you do have to turn this on. Quite a few turns so there's an example of that taking a little bit longer, but the other thing that I really like about this is it doesn't burn really loud, so it doesn't have this really high pitch burn to it, but it's a really really nice good

 At this point I purchased this stove. This is the MSR Superfly, with the piezo igniter spend about 70 dollars for this stove, and this is probably one of the most reliable stoves that I have ever owned. However, it it's pretty heavy its bulky and doesn't it doesn't pull down really well, and so I have ultimately stopped using this stove and I started looking at more light weight. / ultralight options like this oli camp ion micro, which is going to be very similar to like the BRS, titanium stove that is very popular in common on Amazon and then the as well as the olie camp, kinetic, which I did do kind of a comparison of All of these different stoves that I own and I'll link that up here, but there's there's something about the way that all three of these, particularly as well as this GSI pinnacle Four Seasons

 Stove have led me to want to purchase this. So let's go ahead and talk about why I purchase the Soto and what has been so awesome about its performance, because there's features about this stove that make it stand out from a lot of the other stoves that are available out on the market. So there's one attribute to this so de Winne master stove. That has allowed this to outperform these other canister stoves that I have owned, and it is right here at the base of the stove

 Next to the height of the burner, that's something that I really really enjoy about. This stove is the space between the burner and the bottom of the pot allows for it to basically be its own type of windscreen in that concave shape, which and other Soto stoves. Like that, amicus do have that concave shape as well. That'S kind of like a signature thing that I feel like makes a really big difference in the overall performance of this stove

Soto WindMaster Stove Review | Is This The Best Canister Stove?

 Let'S break this stove down fold the legs around the base, depending on your pot size. This can fit in along with your gas. Canister, however, doesn't fit in the mai tai 650 mug. So if I take this combination and the bhavantu just put the gas in here with a rag or two and the wind master - goes in its bag and goes in one of the pockets in my wok

 You want to use a frying pan there we go. Oh, if you take that off, so you put your pot on locate it in there. Pan knock up a steak. Something like that, if I want to so with the other two stones, you're going to need to come up with a pot combination as well

 This is not the greatest over winning these views in the wind, but that can easily be combatted by getting a cheap windshield to give it some protection from the elements very efficient on fuel, it's lightweight and it compacts really small and the cheapest I've found it is 29 pounds and that's delivered so for me that makes this the best value of all the stoves. Obviously there are a lot of other gas stoves out there that could perform equally or better than the three that I've shown you today. But these are the three that I use and I often get asked questions on which one is the best. So before I did this experiment, I would have put the stoves in order minimo, wind master and then their MSR pocket rocket in last place

 So it was using twice as much fuel as the Jetboil. It'S a joint first place. You have the Jetboil and the MSR pocket rocky bow for the scored 15 points, the Jetboil scored really well for boil times fuel efficiency and for simran. However, it's a very bulky bit of kit and it's twice as expensive as as the pocket rocket, and that is what considering the price of a 20-pound pot to go with this

Camp Stove Battle - Which stove is best? - MSR Pocket Rocket 2 v Jetboil Minimo v Soto Windmaster

I would skip the JetBoil and get a Soto Windmaster or a Fire Maple Blade 2. Jetboils are heavy and not that much better than a lightweight stove and a titanium pot. The minimo in particular doesn't even have any real advantages for wind resistance and still weighs significantly more than many other stoves and pots.

Have been car camping maybe half a dozen times 15+ yrs ago and was doing it all wrong (we didn't have access to the internet resources we do now 😂). Got the urge to get over my fear of bugs (mainly spiders) and go camping again. I'm aiming to just trial car camping by myself, but would like to try out some beginner hiking trips eventually (probably with a small tour group that can show me the way). I'll only be camping in pretty mild conditions (say 25ish C down to maybe 10C at most).

I've started shopping for the basics and I think I've got everything I need. Just wondering if there's anything I've forgotten that I should consider?

GEAR

1. Naturehike Star River 2p - originally wanted the Mongar, but chose the Star River instead for the better protected side walls. It was also a lot cheaper. Was going to go down to their 1 man tents but they're too small since I want to be able to keep my bag inside (and away from bugs).

2. Sea to Summit Ether Lite Xt insulated mat - I'm a side sleeper. I've also never had a properly suited mat before and have suffered for it so this was a no compromise item. I also figured I could easily resell this if I change my mind about camping.

3. Sleeping bag - already have this but can't remember what it is exactly. It's rated down to 6C. I'll see how it goes for now and upgrade later if I feel I need to.

4. Thermarest compressible pillow - I decided to treat myself with this...

5. Jetboil Minimo - wanted an all in one type solution and this came out the cheapest surprisingly?! In the future I would like to add the coffee press which was part of the reason for picking this setup. Also should be easy to resell if need be.

6. No backpack required yet since I'm going car camping. I have a duffle bag already.

7. Odds and ends - got some cheap sea to summit cutlery and an X-Cup. Also already have a torch, multitool and huge camping chair (won't be taking this if I start hiking).

In the future, I'm aiming to get an Osprey Farpoint Trek 55L back pack. It's going to be used primarily as a travel bag...but can do some light hiking. The big front opening, air cover and decent suspension system are the selling points for me.

I'll also probably add a Nitecore nu25 headlamp at some point. I thought this could double as my tent lighting. I also appreciate that it has a red light just for regular camp lighting.

Am I missing anything essential?

Car camping brings a whole different aspect that I'm ignoring since I already have a pretty decent setup there, but wouldn't mind the obvious overlap if possible.

That said, what I'd like to see is:

* Favorite cook set (pot, skillet)
* Favorite utensil(s)
* Favorite plate(s)/bowl(s)

So far for the burner I'm leaning towards either the MSR Pocket Rocket or Windburner, but everything else is entirely up in the air.
