I found Montreal Assembly Count to 5 (which is a micro looper/granular delay type thing) to work best before my fuzz and drive!

Almost everyone has one -- that little "non-traditional" section of your signal chain.

Maybe you love a little pre-dirt reverb (I know I certainly do). Maybe you enjoy wallowing in your own filth by running delay into dirt (proper hygiene is for cowards). Maybe you listened to a lot of Tool growing up, took a page out of Adam Jones' playbook, and run flanger into delay (PRYING OPEN MY THIRD EYE, PRYING OPEN MY THIRD EYE, PRYING OPEN MY THIRD EYE). Maybe you're really hungry, so you make a delay-looper-delay sandwich (mmm, tasty...). Maybe you have your fuzz at the very end of your chain, because some men just want to watch the world burn (\*incredibly Alfred voice\*).

This was the first time I've been able to audition so many pedals, and I was pretty surprised at how different the "tape delay" types were. I think I tried out 5-6 of them, and ended up with the Strymon El Capistan. It had the right feel for the ramp up when you have infinite repeats and then adjust the speed, where others were either too slow on the uptake, or just felt a little.

 So my final thoughts about this pedal is that it's very versatile, it offers great set of configuration that you can tweak very easily and it's very sturdy, not really too compact, not too big and it's amazing, it really produces clear sounds and great delay settings and also the reverb setting that it's a plus on the delay pedal, right? Strymon El Capistan - Tape Delay Guitar Pedal  | Review & Demo Sounds

 Hi, welcome back to the channel, I hope you're having a great musical day.

 Today I'm recording a review video of the Strymon El Capistan Tape Delay pedal.

 This is a very versatile pedal and it includes several settings that you can choose from.

 You have three settings and three settings for the mode for each kind of delay.

 Also includes time and mix settings and tape age and repeats.

 The tape age is how long it will repeat and the repeat is the number of repeats.

 You also have the wow and flutter settings that you can adjust.

 This pedal is so versatile that it also includes a reverb-like setting when you press these

 The time setting becomes a spring reverb that you can adjust as you wish.

 On the back panel you have an input, an expression pedal, left and right output and a jack for

 So without any further ado, let's discover the sounds produced by this pedal.

 So my final thoughts about this pedal is that it's very versatile, it offers great set of

I had a Carbon Copy Deluxe for 9 months but found it uninspiring so I did some research online via YT videos and buyer reviews so I decided to try the El Cap. I purchased through Amazon because I had some gift certificates so..

.. Not only did the pedal arrive earlier than expected, (it shipped directly from Vintage King) but it sounds so good that I have not stopped using it since it arrived.  I'm practicing guitar more because this pedal makes the process more enjoyable and yes, it makes my playing sound better

 The El Cap will be used extensively on many of my tracks in the years to come.  I also own a Strymon Flint which I cannot say enough about. Strymon pedals are more $$$ but consider that most of their pedals have 2 effects, more features, and sound incredible. Seriously, the Flint Reverb/Tremolo combo are top notch and I have used that pedal on many other tracks besides guitars so my point is, these Strymon pedals are incredible on guitar rigs but also work excellent for studio use
