So what is my final verdict? This Vitamin C 16% with Vitamin E and ferulic acid will suit somebody who has been using Vitamin C for a long time. So if you are somebody who has been following a good skincare routine, have been using Vitamin C for at least 6 months and you are able to tolerate it well and you want to amp up your skincare routine and want something extra, then you can add this serum. Remember that just having higher concentration does not mean that it is better

How to choose vitamin C | Minimalist vitamin C  | Vitamin C + E +ferulic 16% &  Vitamin C 10%

 Hi, Vitamin C is a good ingredient to include in your skin care routine. It helps in reducing

 dark spots, increases collagen synthesis as well as protects the skin from ultraviolet

 radiation. Today I am going to review two vitamin C products from the brand Minimalist.

 First is the Vitamin C plus E plus Ferulic 16% face serum and second is the Vitamin C

 10% face serum. At the end of the video I will tell you my final verdict on both of

 these products. So let's get started. As always I will be reviewing these products in the

 following headings. What does it do? How does it feel? How to use it? Who will it suit?

 And what precautions to take? First let's start with the Vitamin C 15% with Vitamin

 E and Ferulic acid. Vitamin C is a good ingredient to include in your skin care routine. Vitamin

 C is not produced by the body. We need to take it orally. But we don't know how much

 of the oral Vitamin C actually reaches the skin. So using a topical formulation on the

 skin works best. So let's discuss about stability of Vitamin C. Vitamin C is an unstable molecule.

 It gets oxidized very easily. So can you just crush a Vitamin C tablet or take some fruit

 extract and dissolve it in glycerin and apply it on your face? Absolutely not. It is not

 going to show any benefits. The Vitamin C has to be formulated in a correct way, dissolved

 in proper solution for it to be effective, for it to penetrate through the skin and show

 its effects. The most potent form of Vitamin C is L-ascorbic acid. But it is also the most

 unstable form. L-ascorbic acid is more stable at pH 3.5. Because it is unstable, there are

 usually other formulations of Vitamin C such as ethyl ascorbic acid or sodium or magnesium

 ascorbic phosphate which are regularly used in Vitamin C serums. Ethyl ascorbic acid is

 more stable and less likely to oxidize. So you will see that most of these Vitamin C

 serums contain ethyl ascorbic acid. Vitamin C also causes collagen formation. So the skin

 is made up of two layers, the upper epidermis and the lower dermis. The dermis contains

 collagen and elastin. As we age, there is reduction in the amount of collagen. This

 makes our skin appear age. It gives lines and wrinkles and makes the skin appear more

 textured. That is why we need a lot of collagen to make the skin appear nice and smooth and

 youthful. So collagen and collagen stimulating agents are all the rage right now because

 that is what we require to make the skin appear more youthful. This serum contains Vitamin

 C 16% with ferulic acid and Vitamin E. This combination is very well studied and it is

 known to be a very synergistic combination in order to show good effects of Vitamin C.

 The ferulic acid in the serum helps in stabilizing the Vitamin C, also provides additional UV

 protective benefits. The Vitamin E present in the serum acts well with Vitamin C. So

 the presence of E and C has shown to have synergistic effects and it boosts the antioxidant

 potential of both these agents. So there are a lot of studies done where they have taken

 just Vitamin C alone and Vitamin E alone and also studied the mixture of these two and

 found that the mixture is always performing better than individual agents. It also contains

 fullerene. Fullerene has antioxidant and anti-aging properties. How does it feel? It is watery,

 spreads easily, is slightly tacky and it absorbs quickly. How to use it? Take a few drops on

 your palms and dab it all over your cleansed face in the morning. You can apply this over

 your face and neck and whatever residue that remains on your palms and apply it on the

 back of hands. This way even your back of hands get a little bit of Vitamin C. Make

 sure that you use it on a cleansed face and follow this up with a moisturizer and sunscreen.

 Who will the serum suit? The serum will suit somebody who has been using Vitamin C for

 some time and is able to tolerate the Vitamin C. Then you can use the serum to get more

 benefits from Vitamin C. What precautions to take? Make sure that you use a sunscreen

 in the daytime in order to reap the full benefits of Vitamin C. As we know Vitamin C is an antioxidant

 and ultraviolet radiation is the most important cause for formation of these free radicals.

 So if you don't protect your skin from the sun, the Vitamin C is not going to be effective.

 So make sure that you apply liberal amount of sunscreen and use the sunscreen regularly

 in order to see the full benefits of Vitamin C. Now we'll talk about the next serum which

 is the Vitamin C 10% serum. This contains 3-0 ethyl ascorbic acid. What does it do?

 This serum contains 3-0 ethyl ascorbic acid. So it has all the benefits of Vitamin C as

 mentioned before. It also contains Centella Asiatica. Centella Asiatica has anti-inflammatory
